For the record. Yes the Baby is being thrown out with the bath water. Markets are behaving as if AI is a universal wrecking ball, when in reality it is mostly a universal productivity engine. Panic selling on the premise that “AI will destroy every industry” ignores two basic facts: almost all AI value shows up as cheaper, better output for operators, and most sectors compete on cost, quality, and speed, not on preserving today’s headcount or workflow. The idea that banks, manufacturers, retailers, hospitals, and logistics firms will all be structurally worse off because they can do more with less is logically backwards. The real risk is not that AI obliterates every business model, but that value migrates within each sector—from laggards to adopters, from shallow point solutions to deep platforms, from manual processes to AI‑native operators. Selling “the market” indiscriminately because “AI disruption” is coming is like dumping every company in the 1990s because the spreadsheet made accountants faster; it confuses a shift in winners and margins with an apocalypse.

Today: Most easygoing, relaxed vibe I’ve felt in the 49ers locker room all season and maybe in years (it might be impossible to ever match 2019 in this regard). There’s excitement in the building surrounding Fred Warner’s potential return (that man can’t stop smiling right now), but behind it all there’s this eager calmness — seems zen-like. The win in Philly might’ve fully unlocked that. Rookies and vets alike know that they’ve maximized the hand they were dealt and now they can fully embody a “nothing to lose” mindset. The 49ers were clearly in rest/body recovery mode today, and they haven’t been shy about their desire to face Seattle again. There’s a combination of real respect for the Seahawks and a prevailing thought amongst the 49ers that they didn’t put their best foot forward in Week 18

Thoughts on enhancing our intelligence capabilities to deal with foreign interference and tying with rebuilding the military to enhance public support for both?

@nspector4 The part that I am having trouble understanding is why the Biden camp decided that it was a good idea to debate Trump so early in the election cycle. Suspect that their internal numbers were telling them they needed to do something to shake up the race because they are behind.

Canadians are drinking less beer. Beer sales (in volume) are down 3.6% so far this year, as of the end of April, following the 2023 trend when sales (by volume) dropped 3.5% for the entire year.
