@World_Transform Not sure I fully agree with the explanation. Is it not more likely that humans are suffering cognitive dissonance between the pre-conscious nurturing and post-conscious reflection on that previous state and reconciling the dissonance by exhibiting the current “bad” attitudes?

@HeinzUK As a Brit with mouths to feed, passing on something that was once a mainstay but has recently become a luxury item (with associated turd polishers DentsuMB), would probably get me the “keys” from St Peter.

Mathematicians discovered a new shape they call "the hat." It's a 13-sided polykite that's also an aperiodic monotile, meaning it can cover a surface using multiple copies of just that one shape. This shape was previously only theoretically possible. bit.ly/3M2QomG

@maldonsalt Hi @maldonsalt if you just post a short video explaining how you open the (cardboard) packet and get it into the gold tin without it spilling on everything within social distance I will be eternally grateful!

25 Giga-Tonnes is: 25,000,000,000 Tonnes (25 Billion Tonnes) or 25,000,000,000,000 KGs (25 Trillion Kilograms) or 3 Tonnes each for every man jack of us on the planet and I mean every one. #ClimateEmergency #ClimateAction #WheresMy3Tonnes

So if I read the UNFCCC graph correctly, we, very collectively, will have to remove, or more likely stop emitting, about 25 Giga-Tonnes of CO2 annually - and by 2030 - to have about a 50% chance of keeping the rise in global warming to about 2 degrees by 2100. #ClimateEmergency

Having read your comments - many thoughtful and well-meaning - I remain no closer to visiting. @Australia is wonderful in large part due to its people but solving these paradoxes, happening globally, does not happen down the rabbit-holes of Twitter. #ClimateAction #Discourse

Sitting in a swish Indian restaurant in the Algarve where a curmudgeonly, veteran northerner is trying to impress his new-found Brazilian “niece” by slagging of the food and the service! Very embarrassing to be British!

So good to be back in the newsroom. Overwhelmed by so much support from so many. Thanks to all. I’m still a cancer patient so will take a while to find a work schedule that fits with ongoing treatment. I’m determined to get behind that studio desk as often as I can.

@amateuradam Bloke goes into a Butcher’s Shop and says, “Pound of kidley please” Butcher replies, “Don’t you mean kidney sir?” Bloke says, “That’s what I said diddle I?” Is my favourite joke. Thanks.

@Biltawulf I think you need to go and report back to your people. Singaporeans are generous in spirit, funny and kind. If you have their same spirit drop into a Hawker Centre and try “spare parts” or Durian Fruit and talk to a few of them. Did I mention intelligent? @TwitterSG
