Today I begin a new treatment for my cancer. Everything else, including chemo sessions spread out over months have failed to stop the beast.

The Victoria Cross is our nation’s highest honour for valour, recognizing unrivaled acts of the bravery, self-sacrifice, and devotion to duty. Private Jess Larochelle demonstrated extraordinary courage in Afghanistan, holding his position under heavy enemy fire to save his fellow soldiers, and it is long past time he be posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross. Today, we called on the federal government to establish an independent military honours review board to ensure that Canada’s heroes are recognized for their profound sacrifice.

It is becoming increasingly clear that there is a fracturing of authority in Iran. While the president apologises to his Gulf allies, the IRGC seems intent on continuing, even increasing, action against Gulf neighbours even if they have not allowed US bases to be used in the conflict. There can be no hope for a better future in Iran or peace in the region as long as the IRGC, the Basij or the Qods force remain. They have shown their willingness to unleash murderous brutality against the Iranian prople. They are, inside and outside Iran, the greatest threat to change and peace. As well as military action we need to encourage those not fully committed to these groups to abandon them and align with the people of Iran.

💔 17 years ago today, March 20, 2009, during Operation Jaley, the largest joint US-Canadian 🇺🇸🇨🇦 operation since the Korean War, an IED ripped through our fighting patrol in Kandahar’s Zhari District. Master Corporal Scott Francis Vernelli (28) and Corporal Tyler Crooks (24) of November Company, 3rd Battalion, Royal Canadian Regiment were killed in action along with our Afghan interpreter. We were on a fighting patrol taking a long halt when the pressure release IED blast hit. I, along with four others were injured in this deadly blast of HME. The explosion aftermath and medevac was captured by a CBC reporter imbedded with our patrol. 🎥⬇️ Their courage, sacrifice, and names live on forever. Today on their anniversary we remember them. Today, that legacy lives on through the 100th Anniversary of Women Achieving the Right to Vote and Hold Public Office Scholarship Program. After nearly six years, I’ve made the difficult decision to step away from my roles as Senior Regional Desk Officer and Regional Organizer with the Conservative Party of Canada. What began as a short, six‑month, part‑time contract ahead of the 2021 election turned into an incredible journey — filled with inspiring people, hard-fought campaigns, proud wins, tough defeats, and lessons I’ll carry forward. I never imagined how meaningful these years would become, or how much I’d grow through the experience. Following the 2025 election, I was honoured to rejoin the Political Operations team, excited to help prepare for what I thought might be another national campaign soon. But with the timing of the next election uncertain and multiple by‑elections already underway, this feels like the right moment to step back and focus on other pursuits. I’m deeply thankful to Mike, Jeremy, and our entire Political Operations team, along with our National Councillors, Caucus, candidates, EDA presidents, and countless volunteers across Atlantic Canada. The dedication, professionalism, and genuine heart within this movement are unmatched — and being part of it has been one of the tremendous honours of my career. The Conservative family will always feel like home to me. I’ll remain a proud donor, volunteer, and supporter — and I believe deeply in our mission to restore Canada’s promise. The future of our country depends on strong leadership, compassion, and optimism — and I remain hopeful. I’ll have more to share in the weeks ahead about other adventures. For now, I just want to say thank you — to my colleagues, teammates, and the many extraordinary Canadians who made this work worthwhile. Yesterday, an Iranian-Swedish man was executed on bogus charges of espionage. Today, these three men, including 19 year old wrestling champion Saleh Mohammadi, involved in January protests were also executed after televised coerced confessions under duress. No lawyers. No proper trials. I am afraid there will be an execution spree in the coming days and months. The international community must be involved in helping with regime change; otherwise, we will continue to see mass slaughter and executions of Iranians. Even a weakened mullah regime and IRGC will continue to pose a threat to the world.
