@Martyupnorth How much will Alberta spend on defence? Nothing of course. All part of being a US territory

#BREAKING Mark Carney has just announced that he is shutting down the Enbridge Mainline immediately. Using the Supreme Court of Canada, he has forced Enbridge to relinquish ownership to Brookfield Asset Management. Brookfield will now control the largest pipeline in Canada. This will likely mark the start of the construction of a new pipeline system directly connecting the oil to Carney's offshore account.

Waterfront Toronto
Waterfront Toronto@WaterfrontTO·
Designed to serve more than 150,000 people who will live and work along the eastern waterfront and accommodate over 50,000 daily riders, Waterfront East Transit puts people first – ensuring transit is planned for future growth and for the communities who already call the waterfront home. This week’s tri-government commitment to advance Waterfront East Transit lays the foundation for a thriving waterfront: new homes, new neighbourhoods, and connected communities and destinations. For Waterfront Toronto, this marks a major step forward in building a waterfront that is truly connected, inclusive, and complete. @SamHersh01 Instead let’s build a $100 billion+ tunnel under the 401 in Toronto that will not solve congestion. That’s a Conservative proposal

Canada is literally the only G7 country without high speed rail. Conservatives want you to continue to pay sky high prices for gas, worsen congestion on roads and make your commute hours longer. We've been "studying" high speed rail for 50 years - time to get it built.

Pierre Poilievre on the Toronto–Quebec City High-Speed Rail Network: "Conservatives oppose the $90b Liberal-Alto train ... a future Conservative government will cancel this $90b boondoggle altogether."

@Martyupnorth May be Canadian CPP because that’s an earned pension. OAS is for Canadian residents, which you will no longer be. In any case you will be living in a US territory with limited rights (like Puerto Rico)

I worked in Quebec for three years. When Alberta becomes an independent country I will collect an Alberta pension, OAS from Ottawa and a pension from Quebec. It's going to be glorious.

@AlexanderGlista What it’s really saying is “I’m hoping to pick up some votes from the disaffected and gain seats in the next election.” What if a pipeline requires private property? Up near Collingwood they’re protesting a Department of National Defense Long Range Radar facility.

@MattSpoke The less we build the worse it gets. Defeatist, lazy, branch plant mentality. Contributes to our poor productivity

Like most Canadians, I would like to have nice big infrastructure projects to be proud of and that could help grow our economy. That said, I’m a realist like Pierre. This train will either never get built (after spending tens of billions) or will get built after spending hundreds of billions. Someone needs to start highlighting how bad we are at building things in this country.

@PierrePoilievre This is exactly why we are so far behind on defense, transit, infrastructure, energy, industry. Always kick the can down the road. Easy to say no, hard to have a vision for the country.

@ztisdale Growing up in Etobicoke I took French classes straight through to the end of high school. There was a lot of virulent anti-French bigotry with kids complaining about having to learn it. Intelligently people generally want to speak more than one language.

@JonFromAlberta Sure 52% to join the US. Because joining the US is what you would be doing. Within a few years you would be bitching about Washington.

When Newfoundland joining Canada happened, it passed with just 52%. That was enough to bring Newfoundland into Canada. So let’s be honest about what that means. If 52% is enough to join, then 52% is enough to leave. That’s already the precedent, and everybody understands what a clear majority is. If 52% of Albertans vote to leave and we’re told we’re “not allowed,” then what does that actually say about the system? At that point, the decision has already been made by the people. Because if independence is the end goal, you don’t ask permission forever. You get the mandate first. Until there’s a vote, nothing changes. But once there is, everything does.

Lazy Canadian Investor
It’s my experience that Americans are 100% friendlier, and more tolerant than Canadians right now. Canadians are unhappy all the time because they’re broke. They have no money. As a Canadian, my travels to the U.S. have had no issues. Anyone that says otherwise is lying - they don’t know. I wish Canadians the best in removing the hate from their hearts 🇨🇦❤️

@Freedom77015202 Don’t know whether the flight happened or not, but the PM isn’t allowed to fly commercial for security reasons. Must repay a portion of the flight for personal use. Long established policy

The Prime Minister cannot use the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) for personal or private purposes. RCAF aircraft may only be used for official government business, under strict rules, and only with AUTHORIZATION from the Minister of National Defence.
