Charlie Sheen says date nights after 20 years of marriage is cringe Bill: “Whenever these people get divorced in the media, the celebrities and they're always like, ‘What went wrong?’ Nothing went wrong. They were married 20 years. That's what went wrong. Time went wrong” Charlie: “How do you feel about married couples that still have a date night on year 23?” Bill: “Please put a bullet past my tongue if I ever have to have a fucking date night” Charlie: “I cringe at those. They're cute and I'd like to root for it, but I know how they're both feeling at that dinner” Bill: “To schedule sex is just so gross. It's the worst perversion there is”

This is the mindset that brought me here 1) ship fast 2) get 1k-10k visitors 3) ✅ validation > focus ❌ no validation > move on My biggest mistake was not quitting early. The more I work on a startup, the more attach I get, the harder it is to move on. The hit rate for most entrepreneurs is 5%. I’d rather place 20 small bets than spend 2 years doubling down on the wrong one.

I’m finally planning to shut down my first web app. - $0 MRR - $0 revenue - 1,803 visitors It took 25 days to fail my first product

My freshman year our Third baseman told me to not get too big and inflexible, saying he tore his labrum diving because he looked like the Hulk I didn’t listen. Then I dislocated my shoulder twice the following year Now I spend a lot of time & money rehabbing that injury I’d pay $1M to go back and listen to his mentorship The words were free at time time. But I lacked the foresight to listen

Update - big mistake having a free plan. If you have a great hook to convert a free user to a paid, then I'm sure it's great.

I’m not saying “no design.” I’m saying most apps can get away with just nailing the fundamentals. Not every app needs layers of “visual expression,” motion, personality, or over-design-engineering in pursuit of delight. What really matters when you want to get work done are: speed, obvious UX, good defaults, clear behavior. That works every time. The interface design should stay out of the way. I’m arguing for “design is how it works.” Do this first. I don’t want to notice your UI. I want to see my content.
shadcn@shadcn

Unpopular opinion: I don’t care if most web apps look the same. All I care about is whether it does what it says and does it fast. Make it fast. Make the UX obvious. Put the right things in the right place and little to no animations.

I have this working theory that you don't know anything about your product (CTR, conversion rate, etc) until you get to 1,000,000 impressions. And I have zero data to back that up. So that's where I'm at.

The gap I called out yesterday isn’t theoretical. OpenAI’s deployment company is the proof of how big it is. I’ve watched 18 people close their first AI implementation client in the last 8 weeks. Working the exact market that sits underneath what OpenAI is chasing. The $2M to $50M companies that need this just as badly. Starting Monday I’m running a FREE 7-Day Challenge to show you exactly how they did it. Same playbook and system. You’d be working directly with me and my team. DM me “CHALLENGE” and I’ll send you the signup link.
Luke Pierce@lukepierceops

OpenAI just launched a deployment company with 19 consulting firms attached. AKA an Ai Implementation Agency but at a larger scale. None of them are taking calls from a $5M agency. Every founder I’ve talked to the last 4 weeks is doing $2M to $30M. They have the same problem the enterprise has. Manual ops, broken workflows, 20 tools that don’t talk. The difference is they can’t afford a 6 month enterprise engagement and 14 stakeholders signing off. That’s the gap and it’s bigger than the enterprise market they’re chasing.

@levelsio how do you feel about free tier levels? More specifically if you're doing AI image/video, free generations to allow users to try it before purchasing... I am not getting the conversions I would like. Most likely, it's probably that my product is just not good enough to convert to paid.... or maybe I'm giving away too much. curbappealai.co

Old people massively underestimate how out of touch they are. Your average mid-level corporate manager Thinks the world still plays by the same rules as 25 years ago. They pull hierarchy on ambitious twenty year olds, telling them to get in line only for them to be laid off at 50 with zero backup plan. Spiritual boomerism.
Paul W. Swaney III@paulswaney3

Young people massively underestimate how their public social media can kill high-paying job offers I have personally seen 5 offer letters pulled in NY over social media content. All were 300k plus total comp roles. Real cases If you are aiming for 85k forever, you are probably fine If you want bigger things, read this

Today, @UseCorgi is announcing a $160M Series B at a $1.3B valuation led by TCV. This new round of funding will help us scale what we've built and expand into new verticals including trucking, payroll, and small business. This follows our $108M Series A that we announced 16 weeks ago, bringing total funding to over $268M.
