I think I understand now why more than 40 countries have recognized that what Israel is doing in Gaza is genocide. And official statistics from the United Nations say that the vast majority of those killed by Israel in Gaza are women and children.

@BreeSolstad When I was 12, I had a dream vision of hell. Was contemplating why a 12 year old would go through that a couple of days ago. I think I was preemptively punished for sins I’d commit in the future. The sins were named. I think I’ll leave it at that for now.

If Jesus Christ—who speaks of Hell more than anyone in the Bible—thought it was very important to preach on Hell then His ordained priests should preach on it also. There are many other good reasons, but this one seems more than sufficient. This shouldn’t be complicated. 🤷‍♀️

I never preach on hell. I don’t understand why anyone would. Maybe a reason exists? Certainly hell is a real consequence. However, I think it’s better pedagogy to point people toward the good. Preaching is, after all, ordered primarily to the movement of the will to the good.

@JamesKowalski88 Did Jesus ever explicitly say he was a prophet? As far as I can recall he never did. So the processes by which we determine that Jesus is both a prophet and God are deductive. If Jesus said He was God then He would have been killed. He chose His moment, ask Caiaphus.

You think "Jesus never said the exact phrase 'I am God, worship Me'" is a clever argument, but you just completely annihilated your own religion with that brainless literalist standard. Let's look at the Quran using your exact rule: ​Show me where the word "Tawhid" appears in the Quran. Go ahead, find the verse. Spoiler: It doesn't exist. The core foundational doctrine of your theology isn't even a vocabulary word in your book. ​Now show me where the phrase "Five Pillars of Islam" is listed in the Quran. It’s completely missing. Your entire structural framework of faith comes entirely from later Hadiths, not the text of the Quran. If a title or formula has to be spelled out explicitly in a single quote to be true, your entire religion just dissolved.

Something fishy is going on. In the past 24 hours, Iranian state TV has reportedly mentioned JD Vance positively 83 times, often while attacking Israel and America’s allies. They have praised Vance more than their own president. We have a saying in the Middle East: if the Islamic regime in Iran loves your position, you are probably doing something wrong. If it hates your position, you are probably 100% right.
