The 1:4 ratio is for sedentary people, not for performance optimization. You need 3 sodium ions just to absorb 2 potassium. At 1:4 you don't have enough sodium to actually absorb the potassium you're taking. Same goes for Vit C, Iodine, Magnesium, all sodium-dependent for absorption.
