@mdubowitz It seems *even* the US can support blatant genocide for only so long, well at least during an election cycle.

Biden admin is setting the stage to abandon Israel. What started off as “We are totally with you in destroying Hamas, which is as bad as ISIS,” is deteriorating into “You don’t have our support unless you can dismantle Hamas very quickly with very limited civilian casualties.” That’s impossible.

They don't want to have a culture war over Work for the Dole, which it would be trivial to win, but they are happy to try and out-Dutton Dutton on refugees, which they will not only never win but are currently losing at spectacularly.
jeremy poxon@JeremyPoxon

had a meeting with Julian Hill. I asked why he recommended keeping Work for the Dole. he said it's because he doesn't want to have a "culture war" with the Liberals over it. in case you need more insight into how welfare policy works in this country

I think ancient glass makers did this just to troll us future people. They knew many of us would be chronological snobs who think people of the past couldn't make sophisticated stuff so they made things like these to teach us a lesson ;) It's a vase in a vase!! Mind & glass blown
Dr Jo Ball@DrJEBall

A amazing bit of #Roman glassware here - a vase with a smaller version of itself inside, visible due to damage on the larger vessel. This piece would have taken a fair amount of skill to craft - it was probably made in Cologne, where a lot of expert glassmakers lived #Archaeology

In case you were wondering what the cosmic Koala was saying during Boimler's near-death experience in #StarTrekLowerDecks' "In the Cradle of Vexilon": You heard "It is not your time, Bradward Boimler" backwards. :-)

Seeing posts about how much peoples grocery bills have risen so I thought I'd add a reminder. People in poverty are not paying that extra cost (they can't afford to) they are simply going without.
