Hi friends~ Personal announcement time!
You may have noticed I've changed my name/profiles across social media and other channels, and that is because I have decided (after a long period of exploration) to transition and live solely as Mara (She/Her) from now on. <3
"The Touch of Terran Skies" is an ultra high dynamic range photo of this morning's Total Lunar Eclipse, which I captured using a number of instruments to reveal not just the incredible color on the lunar surface, but the deep space in the Cosmic Background.

New toy just arrived 🤩
- It’s longer and thicker than my forearm 😍
- I can’t even hold it with one hand
- It’ll require strength and lots of lube 🥵
I am a gamer first, but I just LOVE this kind of “activity”; it makes me feel so good 🥰
Can you guess what it is? 😜
This is an old video but here’s an example of good form. Back is arched, but I maintain the 5 points of contact: head, neck, shoulders, butt, feet. Also,
Spot your homies.

@ClaireMax I just finished this project for a friend and the biggest thing that helped me this project was learning how to control the speed with the foot pedal more consistently
Sewing tips for beginners: a thread 🧵🪡
(Haha get it, sewing puns):
1. Use the correct thread and needles. Whe I worked at a fabric store, I can’t tell you how many times I would see people try to buy embroidery thread to sew with. I get it, it looks pretty and shiny, but embroidery thread is for decoration, not structure. It’s not strong enough to hold a garment together long term and does not hold up well to washing. Needles need to not only correspond to the type of fabric you’re using, but also the type of thread. this is the most common cause of needle breaks or thread breaks when sewing.
2. Understand different fabric types, their uses, and how to care for them. Just because something LOOKS nice doesn’t mean it’s the right choice for your project, just like the embroidery thread.
3. Your seam ripper is your best friend and you will also lose it every 5 minutes. Buy 15 of them.
4. The presser foot is the thing on the machine that holds the fabric down and that the needle passes through. The thing you press with your foot to make the machine go is the foot pedal. I realize this is confusing.
5. The grain of your fabric matters. patterns use an arrow to indicate the direction of the grain, follow it. The “straight of grain” (the direction of the arrow) will always be parallel to the selvage edge of the fabric (the finished edge when you buy fabric off the bolt). If your fabric doesn’t have a selvage edge and it’s a woven fabric (not stretch and not something like leather), make a snip in the edge and tear. Fabric will always tear on the straight of grain, and you now have a straight edge to align your pattern with.
6. DO NOT USE FABRIC SCISSORS TO CUT PAPER!!! This dulls the edge super quickly.
7. When pinning a seam, whenever possible always place your pins perpendicular (90 degrees) to the edge of the fabric. This way you can sew over your pins and they won’t get stuck under the presser foot. Also less chance of stabbing yourself while sewing.
8. If your machine is jamming or not sewing properly, before you do anything else, unthread and rethread it, top and bottom. Most machine problems are caused by improper threading.
9. Be prepared to spend money. Making something oneself is almost NEVER cheaper than buying it. Materials and supplies are expensive and sewing is time consuming, especially if you’re making cosplays. most people don’t sew because it’s more economical (though being able to repair or alter items instead of buying new ones definitely is), but because it’s fun!
If you have any sewing questions, ask down below and I’ll answer as many as I can! ✌🏻
This photo received a lot of backlash on other social media platforms when I posted it. Let's see how X does.
"Pittsburgh Regional Transit providing some color on what was otherwise a grey day."
@samloomis13 I would say it's even worse than The Mist, those kids are dead within a day or two and that's if the polar bears didn't eat them right away
Honestly, no. There are some where afterwards I might feel I could’ve used that time doing something else but no movie has ever just flat out made me angry.
