My two cents … I’m not sure the deficiencies in Zayne Parekh’s game can be addressed at the junior level. I think #Flames should view this season as an investment in his future. I get the contract considerations, but why postpone the growing pains to next fall?

Can report, Zayne Parekh will not play here in Nashville today (coach’s decision). Ditto for Zary. I can also tell you Parekh’s short-term future with the club is up in the air, as the first year of his entry-level contract would be burned if he plays one more game. Sending him back to junior is unlikely, but if the Flames are going to do that they’d rather not use up a year on his deal first. It’s a fascinating internal debate, as he’s struggled in the NHL, but is too good to return to junior. As per the CBA, the AHL is not an option for the 19-year-old. Expect the team to take a wait and see approach, as every loss puts them a step closer to approaching everything differently.

@TheLoneRaider @NHLFlames I agree, McKenna would be a dream come true. Arizona, Ottawa, Buffalo, NYI, Sharks, Ducks, all play their rookies so they learn and improve meanwhile we are bottom of the league AND are stunting development, all so ownership can still "wait and see"
