I’m starting to believe that we will cease the need to be able to read or write. Eventually it’s all just going to be thought transfer. Reading a language or having to type will be a thing of the past. I give it 10 years.

Researchers just proved that every single elementary function, sin, exp, log, sqrt, comes from one single binary operator. It is like finding the “God Particle" for calculus. In computer science, every complex program breaks down to a single logical operator: the NAND gate. It is the fundamental building block of all digital reality. But for continuous math, physics, engineering, machine learning, we thought we needed a massive toolbox. Addition. Subtraction. Trigonometry. Logarithms. Every scientific calculator and neural network has to juggle all of them. Until today. But this paper proved that every single mathematical function can be generated by a single, bizarre binary operator. eml(x,y) = exp(x) - ln(y). Combine that with the number 1, and you can build everything. Pi. The square root. Sine and Cosine. Arithmetic. It is all just the exact same operator, repeating over and over again in a binary tree. Nobody anticipated this existed. It was found by systematic exhaustive search. But the implications for AI are massive. Instead of an AI struggling to combine different mathematical rules to discover a new scientific law, it can just use a single, uniform architecture. One trainable circuit. One repeatable node. The events of the past few days have pushed us closer to a world where AGI is developed in an underground bunker owned and operated by the U.S. government. This would be a bad world - one in which the risks posed by powerful AI would be significantly more pronounced. I hope that humanity, in its collective wisdom, would find a way to steer clear from such an outcome.

@DerrickEvans4WV When I first become homeless in 2024 (US citizen) in the state of AZ…I was denied snap benefits. I feel like if there was ever a time I needed govt help, that was it and they turned me down. My income for the previous yr was just 36k.

Stephen Miller just said “…if the only people who received benefits were those who lawfully qualified, were eligible and needed them, we would balance the federal budget.” Fraud is going to bankrupt our country. We need to catch these fraudsters and lock them up.

I have a question I’ve been dying to ask someone that’s experienced this: were you ever nervous being on a freeway/highway and not being the one “in control”? Like, do you still keep your eyes on the road? Do you put your hands on the wheel? As someone that’s never experienced FSD (I’ve never even been in a waymo or a tesla), I genuinely feel like I’d be nervous at first. Especially freeway speeds. Sorry if this is a dumb question.

@WmBrackbill Indeed. Once you’ve experienced FSD on a road trip, the thought of manually driving for hours on end is simply unacceptable. The Model S would probably have managed it with fewer stops, but Cybertruck was more comfortable and practical for a family of 5.

Just completed my longest ever single day road trip in the Cybertruck. Here are the stats: • 946 miles driven from Fort Lauderdale FL to Richmond VA. • 17.5 hrs (slow due to Florida traffic) • 7 Supercharger stops - total time charging 1hr 53min (avg 16min, longest 23min) • $132.40 in Supercharger fees ($0.14 per mile) • 100% on FSD • WiFi courtesy of Starlink mini Cybertruck is the only vehicle I’d want to try this with. Super easy and comfortable. Kids enjoyed it and were able to watch movies and play computer games against each other thanks to Starlink and the entertainment system.

laymen thought: What if we really did have antediluvian ancestors and they distributed compute and storage resources over their version of a cloud infrastructure. Maybe that data is still out there (perpetually always in transit) waiting to be accessed w/ the right tech/frequency

@SciTechera This is not going to end this way for you and me. This pic will be a reality for the elite upper class. Humans are the issue. We are in a universe/reality where resources are fought over. It’s as much of a universal nature as it is a human nature.

A normal view of the Post-ASI Era in village side farming. AI and robots are going to end the scarcity timeline. We’ve been trained to think in scarcity and competition for years, but we can choose abundance. When people believe there’s enough for everyone, we actually work together. To solve big problems and explore incredible stuffs. And with the new technology and scientific breakthroughs that are coming, the age of scarcity will no longer stay. I hope you also understand that technology is the greatest equalizer of all time. But it also hurts when people don’t adopt it timely. So be prepared and aware of what’s going on.
