@PheaVampire

Something something. Two moods: silly jokes and angsty darkness FYI: Comic updates will be rare. I need A LOT of free time to make a new part 🦌

@SamHaft Matter of taste probably, but personally I prefer Hazbin songs. But well, I like musicals and don't like pop, especially in such pure form.

@KorolkovArseniy @kaarxx_ As a Pole who reads all Witcher books every few years I can confirm that there is no quote written by Sapkowski that directly says women can't be witchers. There are some hints it's not considered a norm, but no direct confirmation.

@kaarxx_ I am sure you are aware that the English translation of The Witcher is not very good, and using it to prove a point is pretty much invalid. I can give you the full quote in Polish that directly says women can't be witchers)

voilà pourquoi je déteste déjà the wither 4, sa conclusion était parfaite, vouloir continuer l'histoire y compris avec Ciri est une faiblesse intellectuel terrible et un manque total de créativité

@Pedanti_Cat In show business it usually works like this: if you don't know what happened, then probably production issues happened. Too little budget, too little time for work, producer's wishes... And yet, at the end of the day you still have to deliver finished product on time.

Something must have happened behind the scenes with Thr Boys cause after season 4, Kripke talked about how the show is about to become apocalyptic after Homelander basically won. Yet now he's saying he was never interested in doing an apocalypse story.

@wallace_rhys @Teslimatttt It would be super interesting to see how he must live without his powers (assuming he couldn't get compound V of course). It absolutely makes sense dramatically to kill him in the end, but ngl, I'd love to see how miserable he would be without his power in longer perspective.

@Teslimatttt Even so Butcher was killing this MF regardless I don't know why so many wanted him to live at all after everything he did. Him living just long enough to fear dying was the cherry on top.

People saying Butcher should've spared Homelander and let him live powerless are forgetting that Homelander literally had Compound V stored in his apartment at Vought Tower. He could've easily gotten his powers back.

@Jv1i3n_ I think it was the happiest ending he could get. Butcher was so broken he had to die. But he doesn't die alone like Homelander - he dies next to his friend, who actually cares and helps him to go peacefully.

“You really are… the spittin' of Lenny.” The idea of Butcher getting a happy ending and riding off into the sunset didn’t ever sit right. That’s why it’s so nice to see that the series saves one last curveball for the very end. I cried. Incredible scene. They nailed it.

No spoilers. No spoilers. 'The Boys' S5, EP.8 -- 'Blood and Bone' You guys... YOU GUYS... I'm over the moon. Was it good? Definitely. Butcher and Homelander going down as one of the greatest rivalries I have ever seen in television. Brutal fucking episode. I'm so shook.

@SicklyTheNinJa I think Marcin Blacha said in some old interview that they were learning how to makes games at the beginning and they were afraid to use Yen and Ciri too early, because they wanted to make sure that the most important people in Geralt's life will be written really good.

Still kinda crazy to me that Yennefer Vangerberg wasn't in the any of these games until 8 years later in The Witcher 3. Like Ciri, she's strangely absent and yet the moment they arrive they both fit in so well with the narrative that you wonder why they were left out at all. 🤔 It's also funny watching Geralt lose his composure any time he sees her 💀

@TheRangerGeorge This quote is fake. Sapkowski never wrote that girls can't be mutated. Triss even wonders why witchers from Kaer Morhen didn't try to mutate Ciri. It is certailny not a norm in this world, but there is no quote that proves that girls can't be witchers.

The book states that it was never completed on a girl. Implying that it was actually a process that applied to boys (at least it was only ever successful on them). Regardless, it is not just that girls 'faired worse', it's that it actually never worked. Ever. There were and, until Ciri, have never been any female Witchers. Implying a significant shift in the established Witcher canon. Worlds have rules (even implicit) and considering the title is the 'Witcher', breaking from something so significant to the main focus of the story raises red flags for many. Again, they can make Ciri a witcher, I am not against it, if handled carefully and not brushed off as 'well we never said it couldn't happen, I guess we just got lucky with it working on an adult Ciri'. Also, considering the fact she didn't need to become a witcher to prove her acceptance into the guild and she was already more powerful and special in a completely different way, rightly, fans have been quite concerned with what feels contrived and against established canon. Thus, there must be a clear and interesting reason that makes sense. I believe it will be to change her genetic makeup in order to hide her from the Aen Elle and also using unique mutagens with an adjusted process. My original tweet was in response to someone calling fans 'weirdos' who don't understand the lore for being rightly concerned about this.
b0ysbrokenheart@b0ysbrokenheart

You're not wrong, but it's more nuanced than that. The process was designed for boys because girls fared far worse, so they basically stopped trying, but it's not impossible. Exceptions exist. Geralt pretty much sums it up in Blood of Elves.

@nottvujbyznys @b0ysbrokenheart I'm pretty sure, I'm rereading these books every some years or so. Sapkowski gives some hints that it's not a norm to mutate girls, but he never wrote it in such direct way. In the Blood of Elves Triss says the witchers were reasonable to not to try mutate Ciri, but that's it.

There were no established female Witchers in the books. None. It doesn’t need to be directly stated to imply the process applies to boys. That said, new methods can be developed and this is likely the case with Ciri, which isn’t a major issue. But implying that fans who disagree with a clear development of the lore are ‘weirdos’ or have never read the books is dishonest.

On Belleteyn night, when tall fires rise, Whispered wishes go through the quiet skies.  A lion cub’s fate is penned in the stars, And lilac and gooseberries are never too far. Tonight, there are no monsters to kill, no roads to roam, Just quiet thoughts and wishes that try to find a home. The White Wolf sits still, mesmerized by the dancing flame, While Dandelion strums his lute and hums Geralt’s name. May your Belleteyn night be full of magic and sparks! 💫
