There is a large oak tree in my yard--very old and beautiful, we love it. Nothing can grow around this tree. It gets all the sunlight and the roots drink up the water so nothing can grow in it's shade. Boomers who live into their 90s are like this. They bottleneck their wealth while paying huge medical bills for meds and procedures. Not that long ago, our parents would pass in their 60s or 70s and that inheritance would come to us at a time that we could use it to pay for college for our kids or improve our homes. The loss of that money to Hospital bills and Pharma affects our ability to improve our kids lives. No, I don't know the solution, but the cost of keeping people alive longer, when they are no longer productive, comes at the cost of people who can still be productive.

I’m against everyone involved in these kinds of situations. On the one hand there’s nothing more pathetic than a grown adult in his 30s crying because his parents won’t give him money. On the other hand, this idea that parents should wait until they’re dead to share their wealth with their children is completely backwards and very unique to the modern age. I want my children to have everything that I have and more. But I also don’t want them to feel entitled to it.

@PaulHsieh While I definitely wouldn’t want singing lessons from my Congressman, I would probably pass on political advice from my Congressman, too.

Taking political advice from a singer makes as much sense as taking singing lessons from your Congressman.
