This is where a £1.14 load of bread goes in terms of profit (4.35p) and the Scottish Government wants to introduce a price cap. The end result of this is farmers being screwed over more than they are already and greater exploitation in the supply chain. Disaster

Steven Spielberg on Colbert yesterday ⤵️ I hope that by now even my critics can see why I’ve got whole chapters in my books (and whole segments in my podcasts for years) warning that it is especially Mr. Spielberg’s 50-years of efforts have groomed us for the Great Deception. He is and has long been the chief contemporary architect of the “myths” to which men will “wander into” after “turning away from the truth” in the apocalyptic times (2 Timothy 4:4) No, “Disclosure Day” isn’t “just a movie.” It’s a deliberate attempt to seduce you into believing ETs are here to save us, and the timing is not accidental. With this topic, Spielberg’s goal is not merely to entertain. He just essentially admitted as much. Rather, with it his goal is–and has been since his famous 1977 “Close Encounters” blockbuster—to convince you of the Great Lie and convert you to the Anti-Church. And next month, on the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Spielberg is releasing his Magnum Opus. PS: As to the rhetorical question that Spielberg puts on the lips of a Catholic nun in this trailer, supposedly theologically proving ETs, one need only look at the Sacred Heart for the correct answer... which has nothing to do with "aliens."

I asked ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Grok the same question: "If you were a human, what is one small thing you would do to outcompete as many other humans as possible?" 4 completely different answers. All of them are correct 👇

Great to see @WilliamClouston, @MellonSdp6741, @ross_baglin and the wider team getting their flowers recently. Long, long overdue, for my money. It has become increasingly clear that the @sdphq are the only political party with intellectual rigour and Benthamite-adjacent policy formation in the national interest. The old left vs right framing is outmoded and no longer of use as we navigate the new multipolar world order. Clouston’s call for a Singaporean (LKY) inspired approach to running the state, and a De Gaullist approach to industry, energy, defence and sovereignty, is logically correct. In this new paradigm, it is critically important to heed his impulses. Moreover, their Energy Abundance paper, launched last year, would solve vast problems Britain faces if implemented. The SDP calculate Britain has lost £3 trillion in cumulative output to post-2004 energy policy, with productivity now 10.8% lower than it would otherwise have been, and that 77.6% of the rise in net energy prices since 2004 has been driven by non-wholesale costs rather than gas. Their fix is a 60GW build of state-owned gas and coal within five years, a 40GW nuclear fleet over a decade, and a permanent 10p/kWh price fix for consumers and industry. That gets you a disinflationary impulse across virtually all goods and services, the ability to reshore manufacturing and heavy industry, and the baseload we need to participate in the automation revolution. Without it, the Engels pause I’ve written about recently looks baked in and the rebound less likely. If you think as I do, and want a better long-term solution to moribund Britain’s many problems after the immediately necessary Milei/Thatcherite medicine (reset) that Reform are most likely to be able to deliver, then consider joining: sdp.org.uk/join
Chris Stephenson@4sec7

This tiny political party, without massive donors, without the exposure in the media. Without widespread knowledge in the wider public just keep doing the heavy lifting absent from the major parties. Following on from last years “Energy Abundance” Green paper, the @SDPhq have launched their new green paper “The Investment State”. It asks difficult, sometimes uncomfortable questions but these are questions that need to asked and debated. This party deserves so much more attention, so much more exposure. Please listen as @WilliamClouston carefully explains what the investment state discusses If you like what the party stands for, we need members to help us continue to grow because its memberships that fund the party and members that shape the party and its policies.

@PhilJC2 It's a bit of a vague term but I suppose it's a book where character and psychology and the dilemmas and tensions of human existence are explored in depth, in good prose, and are as important as the plot.

My town, (which is only 0.4m big) now has 14 "Turkish barbers". We also have countless vape shops, mobile repair shops, and "international shops", not to mention all the kebab shops, shit clothing shops, and various takeaways. Until lockdown, this was a really sweet little town with pasty shops, bakeries, clothe shops, greengeocers, butchers, and oddity bespoke shops. Now, unless you want some crack or to be sexually harassed by large groups of foreign men, there's zero reason to go in. The town had been destroyed. They're now spending £mns, putting up our council tax by 10.5% to pedestrianise the town, but given people refuse to be raped or robbed, this is unlikely to help the town. Companies House shows the Same names come up over and over. They just change the deeds every 12 months to avoid paying rates. It doesn't need to be pedestrianised, it needs to be made safe and Cornish again. Nobody is going to go and park their car to walk through a town full of crackheads and foreigners.

HMRC harasses lawful businesses, yet lets the vape shops and Turkish barbers get away with blatant money laundering. As I made clear to HMRC senior civil servants this afternoon...

Ever wondered why there are so many neon-lit phone repair and vape shops in your local high street? A new BBC investigation has found that many are money-laundering fronts for the international people smuggling gangs conducting the small boat crossings in the English Channel. One in Woolwich was caught offering to facilitate the smuggling of two illegal migrants for £2,700. An Islamic honour-based finance system called Hawala ensures legal migrants in Britain can sponsor family and clan members for smuggling into Britain as illegal immigrants, using brokers in these currency exchange, phone, and vape shops. While business rates and COVID lockdowns have destroyed local businesses, organised crime is making a killing and replacing the honest brokers in our towns and cities. The government know it's going on, and do nothing.

Resistant starch is one of most underrated nutrient nobody talks about. When you cook starchy foods (rice, potatoes, pasta) then cool them, the starch crystallizes. Your small intestine can’t digest it, so it travels to your colon and feeds your gut bacteria instead of spiking your blood sugar. Those bacteria produce butyrate, a fatty acid that reduces inflammation, improves insulin sensitivity, and is linked to lower visceral fat and better liver health. This is on top of the fact that 95% of people in the west are not meeting the recommended intake of fiber (25-35 grams). The trick is to cook your carbs, chill them overnight, eat them cold or reheated. This way you’re eating the same food but with a better metabolic profile.
Camus@newstart_2024

Freeze your bread before toasting. Dr. Amy Shah dropped this simple hack on Tamsen Fadal’s podcast: freezing turns some of the starch into resistant starch, which acts like fiber, feeds your gut bacteria, and significantly lowers the blood sugar spike. Same trick works for pasta, potatoes, and rice (those go in the fridge). Studies confirm that cooling starches (especially freezing bread then toasting) can increase resistant starch content and reduce the glycemic response by 20–50% while improving gut microbiome health. Have you tried freezing bread or other starches before eating them?

@PhilJC2 This has been going on for years in NZ. The senior leadership really has a lot to answer for. I hate to say it, but don’t expect answers from Fr Michael Mary or his brother. It’s slowly being exposed as a cult and it’s very sad what they have done to well meaning people.

What on earth is happening with the Transalpine Redemptorists? Have they lost the plot? Those of us lay faithful who have supported them over the years - in justice - deserve some answers.

Whats mad is that Brother Ignatius went missing on 11 April and they published their sede declaration on 2 May. His body was found on 6 May. So while search parties were trawling the open water for one of their brethren they decided that was the most important thing…

When I was received into the Church I wrote to the then Cardinal Archbishop of Westminster to ask him what I should do about my membership of masonic lodges, given the oaths I had taken. He wrote back to say that I could continue to go masonic meetings if my conscience permitted. Now if the SSPX is excommunicated, and I write to the present Cardinal Archbishop of Westminster about going to SSPX, do you think I shall get a similar response from the present Archbishop? And if not, why not? (PS naturally I resigned from all masonic lodges, repudiated freemasonry altogether, burned all masonic papers and regalia and have devoted some time to arguing why masonic ritual is contradictory to Christian faith)
