New trains for @northernassist: The operator has invited Alstom, CAF, Hitachi, Siemens & Stadler to bid for the first phase of its new trains programme, which will see its 150s, 155s &156s replaced. A contract will be awarded next year with the first new trains in service by 2030

@PhilReedData @AndyBurnhamGM You can use any bus within a 1 hour period of time Say of you paid on the 50 to Manchester City Centre from Salford Quays, you could then get on the 135 to Bury Interchange with that same hopper fare ticket

@anon_opin Completely agree. If people can only afford to holiday within the UK, or avoid long distance travel for personal or environmental reasons, don't deny them the concept of holidays just because you can and do jet around the world.

Right listen here. A staycation is where you stay at home and visit local tourist sites etc. Basically act as if you are holiday whilst staying at home. If you drive to Cornwall or somewhere else in the UK that is a holiday not a staycation.

@northernassist @networkrail Hi @northernassist, after many last min cancels, we missed the 1253 from Carlisle to Hexham which was both cancelled and uncancelled. Now no services until 1454? We have been waiting since 1053, this is a totally appalling service. Wil you pay our bus fare instead, please?

@northernassist Station staff say they are waiting on decisions and info from @northernassist. You continue to drop cancellations at the last minute, when your trains could run from Carlisle to Hexham. @networkrail say delays up to 60 mins; it's currently over 120 and was avoidable.

@northernassist Okay, but what about Carlisle to Hexham, please? I've been here nearly 2 hours, with many other people who don't need to travel further than Hexham.

@PhilReedData Sorry to hear that, we have a rail replacement bus departing Hexham at 12:30, calling at all stations to Newcastle. ^ELT
