Thinking about making commenting "Skill issue" on every post I see of someone complaining about the price of EATING OUT my entire personality.

@TiffaniMarie483 I dont think it would be per se. For instance better nutrition can lead to higher IQ. It would come down to the mechanism by which they are altered.

If we’re could genetically alter people to have higher IQs, would it be morally wrong from a Christian stand point?

@wrowclif I feel like this is one of those weird homeschool triva type things. "I was homeschooled; of course I've always known the difference between a cocoon and a chrysalis."

@MrsCMFrancis Sure. As long as the one you pick aligns with the most people having noon with the sun as close to its zenith as possible. Since that's what noon is.

I listed a generator on FB marketplace for $1700. A guy messaged me '1500k'. I'm guessing he doesn't understand how numbers work.

@be_homestead We have 5, 2-11yo and we leave it partially open at night so they get to us if they need to. We just close and lock temporarily if we want privacy.

Congratulate me, friends, for I have started a grammar war and will soon be crowned Supreme King of All Twitter.

@GreatLakesWife_ I once worked on my church’s weekly bulletin. There was a family who was hosting an event (say the surname was “Brooks”). I tried to write that it was “at the Brookses’ home”. I was asked to change it to “at the Brook’s home”. 🫠🫠🫠

This morning we attended the memorial day service downtown. It may be one of the purest public ceremonies that we have remaining. A small gathering at the Civil War memorial in the town square. A prayer, the pledge, a short speech, and Taps is played. Each branch of the armed forces is honored with their anthem and a wreath is presented to honor those fallen in each American war. It’s a modest crowd, many of whom I am acquainted with. I know the ones that write seething diatribes online about the current administration. I know the ones that still proudly have bumperstickers from 2016 supporting the administration. Some are rock hard conservatives and some dyed in the wool liberals. Many very old and also families like ours with young children and babies. But we are all there for the same reason. We love America and want to honor those who have given their lives to keep us free. This year the Legion did a flag folding ceremony, which I don't recall happening in the past. Then we all proceed to the cemetery together. Stopping on the bridge over the river to drop a wreath in honor of those lost at sea. At the cemetery there is a final 21 gun salute before headstones of service men and women are decorated. Below is the script that was read over the flag folding ceremony: The first fold of our flag is a symbol of life. The second fold is a symbol of our belief in the eternal life. The third fold is made in honor and remembrance of the veteran departing our ranks who gave a portion of life for the defense of our country to attain a peace throughout the world. The fourth fold represents our weaker nature, for as American citizens trusting in God, it is to Him we turn in times of peace as well as in times of war for His divine guidance. The fifth fold is a tribute to our country, for in the words of Stephen Decatur, "Our country, in dealing with other countries, may she always be right; but it is still our country, right or wrong." The sixth fold is for where our hearts lie. It is with our heart that we pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. The seventh fold is a tribute to our Armed Forces, for it is through the Armed Forces that we protect our country and our flag against all her enemies, whether they be found within or without the boundaries of our republic. The eighth fold is a tribute to the one who entered in to the valley of the shadow of death, that we might see the light of day, and to honor mother, for whom it flies on Mother's Day. The ninth fold is a tribute to womanhood; for it has been through their faith, love, loyalty and devotion that the character of the men and women who have made this country great have been molded. The tenth fold is a tribute to father, for he, too, has given his sons and daughters for the defense of our country since they were first born. The eleventh fold, in the eyes of a Hebrew citizen, represents the lower portion of the seal of King David and King Solomon, and glorifies, in their eyes, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The twelfth fold, in the eyes of a Christian citizen, represents an emblem of eternity and glorifies, in their eyes, God the Father, the Son, and Holy Ghost. When the flag is completely folded, the stars are uppermost, reminding us of our national motto, "In God we Trust."

@PhilipATSimpson "Elders" is just a word to describe "man who went to seminary", it has nothing to do with age or experience 🤡

While I do think there is heavy implication that male eldership is normative, I never see anyone pointing out that its at least as heavily implied that elders be-- well, old.

Albert Mohler says a woman answering follow-up questions about sermons on a church podcast is functioning as a pastor, title or not. He's now proposing a constitutional amendment at the SBC annual meeting to make that standard official. churchleaders.com/news/2217844-a…

It was wise for Joel Webbon to remove his preaching from the internet. The sermons made it clear that his full-time calling was as a "personality" online, and his hobby was cobbling together a sermon with points supplied by Matthew Henry and the tangents & rants supplied by Joel

@danae_hudlow I think there's absolutely a place for both induction and C-section (fortunately we have technology to check and monitor almost everything now) but it seems like a lot of times its just for convience. I really dont care what people do, just observing.

@PhilipATSimpson There are risks, though, to an aging placenta. I've chosen to induce between 39 and 40 in the past because studies have shown labor/delivery come by a little easier in that window.

Interesting seeing so many people talking about inducing at 39 and 40 weeks. My mom had one of my brothers at 45 weeks. We know another lady that has ten children (mostly grown now) and none of them were before 42 weeks. Sometimes babies just need to cook a little longer.
