So cool to have a 144-game League Phase and then an eight-team punishment round so that we can get to see... Manchester City play Real Madrid again.

Politics feels angrier, harsher and more tribal than it used to...but how much of the blame can be laid at the door of social media? I spoke to @rafaelbehr about how our ancient group instincts collide with 'god-like' digital technology to distort what we see, reward outrage, and erode trust in democratic institutions. Drawing on datasets of millions of social media posts, I discuss how a tiny minority can dominate the online political conversation and platforms can make people seem more extreme, and silence the moderate voices. I also discuss what can be done about it; from redesigning incentives and rebuilding solidarity across group lines; to the small, practical choices you can make to resist the pull of performative moral outrage. open.spotify.com/episode/5Gb2b7…

@MenInBlazers Why can't Arteta get his highly paid team of stars to play like this? And don't give me 'more time on the ball at this level.'

@BenMFreeman This behaviour is not the pride of the Jewish community, Ben. To boo at such a solemn occasion, just because you disagree with someone is not at all respectful.

The Jews who booed David Lammy at the vigil in Manchester are the pride of the British Jewish community. Thank you for speaking with clarity and pride, and for not accepting scraps.

Yes it was hateful, but you really don't need to smear the whole of the BBC and Glastonberry because of it. Not least because you're amplifying and spreading the thing you say you detest. Let's rejoice in some great moments like Robert Smith playing Just Like Heaven with Olivia.
