This story has not gotten enough attention.
A senior French military official was killed in Iraqi Kurdistan by an Iranian drone two days ago. No details have been provided by the French as to why he was there in the first place, except saying it was "defensive".
According to the Iranians, Iraqi Kurdish authorities tipped off Tehran that the French were in Kurdistan seeking to arm and help Iranian Kurdish militias to attack Iran.
Tehran responded immediately with drone attacks that killed one and left several French soldiers wounded.
Clearly, all details are not known yet, but this is likely a significant development.

This suggests some US attacks in Iran are based on intel that is a decade old. If military commanders reviewed recent publicly available satellite imagery, they would have seen a school with a sports field among the sites apparently designated for a precision strike.

Confusing how much each country spends on its own military with its contribution to NATO's common funding = confusing how much you spend on your sports equipment, shoes, and coaching with your annual gym membership fee. The U.S. pays about 16% of NATO budget ≈ equal to the largest EU contributor (Germany).

I met with Minister of the Armed Forces and Veterans Affairs of France @CaVautrin. We discussed Ukraine’s needs to strengthen our defense: military assistance, bolstering our air defense with systems and missiles, and expanding our aviation capabilities with French Mirage and Rafale aircraft. It is crucial to maintain the resilience of Ukraine’s air defense amid Russia’s massive attacks on our energy infrastructure. En Afghanistan, la France s’est engagée dès 2001 aux côtés de ses alliés européens et canadien de l'OTAN, après l’activation de l’article 5 du Traité de l'Atlantique Nord par les États-Unis.

When it comes to guidance kits for bombs almost everyone in Europe uses the American made Paveway or JDAM kits.
Only European made option are the French AASM Hammer kits. But even the AASM uses the American controlled GPS.

a French made Microturbo TRI 60 engine, which is also used in the British/French SCALP/Storm Shadow cruise missile.
The German Taurus uses a Williams P8300-15 engine... which means it needs to be redesigned.
