This year’s @July4thPhilly Welcome America Concert will kick off with an incredible performance by Philly’s own @jsullivanmusic. Jazmine is a hometown hero whose career has reached the stratosphere. She has won two Grammy Awards, a Billboard Women in Music Award, and two BET Awards over the course of her career. We then keep the party going with an old-school legend - an entertainment icon on stage and screen - @llcoolj. LL won his first career Grammy in 1991 and has been defining and redefining music ever since. He is also an entrepreneur and philanthropist, NAACP Image Award winner, and in 2017 was the first rapper ever honored by the Kennedy Center. LL and Jazmine are going to bring the party, and I am personally inviting you to the celebration. Let’s celebrate as One Philly, together.

Our City mourns the loss of Pope Francis. His monumental visit to Philadelphia in 2015 is one of the largest events hosted in our City’s long history. May his legacy of kindness, compassion for the poor, and humble spirit be remembered.

Will Smith’s journey has been nothing short of inspiring. From his roots of being born and raised in West Philadelphia, to his rise as a global superstar, he’s shown us all what it means to dream big and work hard.  We are incredibly proud to call @WillSmith2real one of our own. His achievements are a reflection of the strength, resilience, and brilliance of Philadelphia’s people.  As we rename 2000 N. 59th Street in Will’s honor today, let’s celebrate everything he represents—creativity, kindness, and the power of community.   May this naming serve as a reminder for all of us to spread joy and lift each other up in our great City of Philadelphia.     #OnePhilly — @CouncilmemberKJ, @Mr_4thDistrict, @PhillyCityRep
