✦ When did you start collecting digital art? @coneheadsquid - I first enjoyed digital art as a means of expression, first drawing on an old second-hand Thomson TO7 using BASIC 1.0 or its light pen, and later Mario Paint for short animation that I recorded on VHS (lost them a long time ago sadly). I started collecting digital art very late, started with digital assets with Web3 just right before the FTX scandal in November 2022, I was just buying some PFPs on OpenSea, felt quite lost at that time really. I wasn't feeling like I was collecting any art at all, nor did I have a real utility feeling; it felt just like gambling. Then I started collecting Reddit avatars and interacting with some genuine artists while also joining the r/ConeHeads community. I think it is at that moment that it really clicked for me how NFTs were great about ownership and making digital art something that can really feel being collected; plus it was fun and easy to trade within the community. I joined the hype, created a cheap PFP coneheadsquid collection, just for fun and learning purposes, and created a Twitter account for it. I still keep my pseudonym from that time. Then, by pure luck, on CT, I stumbled upon artists on Tezos. I had no idea it even existed before joining X! I arrived at what feels like a hidden Web3 island of pure creativity, experimentation, and community is really accessible, the metaphor also fits great for the current palmtree art season! #proofofpalmtree2026 !!!
