Guardians make their own fate.
Fly my friends.
The Vault of Glass is empty.
Luke Smith@thislukesmith
At its best, content was a machine to create memories and friendships. No new content stings. This pain is about losing a place where so many memories were made. It stings not because of what it was, but the realization of what it won't be.

No Paul, we don't want Marathon and we've made that perfectly clear, so if Bungie isn't going to pivot, then they're going to perish. So be it, let the bodies hit the floor.
What you fail to realize is all of you oblivious completely obnoxious assclowns picked this fight with us, the ones who actually spend money, pandering to a bunch of broke ass losers who don't have two nickles to rub together, and I can promise you, that we can be a whole hell of a lot pettier than you because we vote with our wallets, while you degenerate maggots vote with your meaningless virtues.
Understand this and understand it perfectly well, Bungie needs us, we don't need Bungie, and If you won't respect gamers, then you'll learn to fear us. Your hatred and contempt for us, doesn't outweigh ours, I can guarantee you that. I don't care if you can't put food on your tables when you continue to ruin this medium with your identity politics.
All any of you are to me, are subhuman parasites.

Paul Tassi@PaulTassi
The reality is that now, more than ever, people should want Marathon to win. If it can thrive, it can expand in interesting ways, it can give Bungie runway and leeway with Sony for future projects. It's all upside if you want more Bungie games or even more Destiny. Marathon dying from here doesn't help anyone. Though that does not mean I'm going to just cheerlead if things don't turn around

@RealBANNED_PEPE @bumbadum14 Tell me you’re a snowflake without telling me you are a snowflake… yall see politics in everything when it’s simply about basic human decency. I mean shit I didn’t know the simple idea of respecting people being left wing
English

Potential? games have been crap and mediocre at best since like 2014. They cant stop thinking leftist political activism first, good game 2nd
Most of these people should be fired and never work in the industry ever again after how bad they miss the mark. They actually hate video games and just want to control the publics views not make great games
English

@RealBANNED_PEPE @bumbadum14 And to pretend that social justice is the cause of all bad things is hilarity. I understand the push back against some of it but the general push is by far a more positive impact. You could argue it’s spun off the rails a bit
English

@PicamonParty @bumbadum14 Its not men and women are different and have different ways of thinking. You want a logical guy brain working on games
This gender bender social justice feminism is why the world is a bad place
English

@TheSeanConnelly @CoolGuyGames I want them to, but I damn man. They’ve burned people so much now. The people yearn for D3
English

@PicamonParty @CoolGuyGames You can deny reality all you want. That’s your right.

I support signing the Destiny 3 petition and having as many people logging in on June 9 as possible as ways of supporting the series and studio
Just...keep expectations in check about any miracles

@thepicklesport @DestinyNostalgi Yeah… the others are right dude. It’s a dunce take to act like loggin in is costly. Pick your purchases, that’s it. D3 is the dream though
English

@DestinyNostalgi lol login? why? so they suck every last penny from us? FUCK YOU!
English

@vikingmike91 @DestinyNostalgi Or build towards something more meaningful and impactful regardless of its a decent wait. So in the end rallying behind the IP shows interest, and the more people that show up will make a point. Sony trying to shit and switch marathon in its place simply isn’t enough
English

@vikingmike91 @DestinyNostalgi That’s the weird thing, the vast majority of people don’t want D2 to keep rolling without massive changes. Unfortunately the devs have constantly been held back for years by upper mgmt. so now after some bad ideas got pushed through we are at a point where we can reset on D2
English

@Stewby_Stew @DestinyNostalgi @rainIoss The issue is by killing a popular IP they garner a lot of bad will. Destiny had so much potential but we stuck with the same game too long without anymore meaningful resets, as much as ppl hate sunsetting it was necessary
English

@DestinyNostalgi @rainIoss Yes. Hopefully on June 9 we can help Bungie fix their $765M problem just in time to save the game! Destiny as a franchise is not worth its investment anymore - and I mean most literally.

@StoneColdToast @itsHecticc Pete parsons stopped them from nerfing and buffing the right things the right amount? Pete parsons stopped them from changing the cringe dogshit metas?

I owe so much to Destiny. My wife & I (who I met playing Halo) were so excited to try out the new Bungie IP. We had just moved in together (bf/gf at the time) and had bought posters that we framed before it even came out because we thought the art direction was so sick - she got a Titan Poster, and I got a Hunter Poster (didn't know I'd end up becoming a Warlock main 😅)
We were just instantly hooked. It was so different than any game we had ever played.
Meanwhile, I was at a low point in my post-college 9-5 career. I had graduated with a degree in Film & TV Production + a minor in creative writing, and landed a job at an advertising agency in NY. It was a paycheck... but I was creatively unfulfilled, and I wasn't happy.
I told my gf I wanted to try making some videos as a hobby - I had been inspired by seeing D1 alpha videos by @DattosDestiny, and thought I could find a new creative outlet as a hobby. I started with videos for Halo: MCC (Halo being my original obsession), and then pivoted to Destiny content because the game continued to pull me in.
I met so many people that would become lifelong friends, but I didn't know it at the time. I met other small-time passionate creators, podcasters, and more. I had found my creative outlet and then some. I got advice from amazing people like @MTashed who always told me how good he thought my content was, & was always in my corner - saying I could easily go full time.
For years, I would work my 9-5, then come home to punch in at my 'other job': streaming, grinding, & making videos. It was demanding, and at times, incredibly exhausting. But I had found my people.
Finally, I made the decision to make the plunge & go full time, and it remains the most soul-satisfying career move I ever made. The memories. The challenges. The community we've all built, together, over a number of years playing this incredible game.
Over the past 2 years or so, I've been branching out with covering other games which have all been a blast, and I'll continue to do so... but Destiny was my anchor. Even though I've been covering it much less lately, the news from yesterday will forever leave a hole in my heart. Even when time marches on, and it slowly begins to scar over, I'll always feel that it's there... but I'll also feel the fond, unreplaceable memories I've collected playing Destiny for years & years.
No matter what I read in the gaming journalist tabloids, I'll forever remain hopeful for some kind of future for this incredible, un-matchable franchise... because I know in my heart of hearts, that if we ALL woke up one day just to see that tweet of a giant "3" hovering out in space, the reaction would be simply nuclear.
