@Ms_H_298 @Langworthy_47 @MarcherReborn I’m not…and foreign kids educated here are export revenue, lost if independent schools are forced to close. The very existence of private education and healthcare is a massive subsidy to state provision. This is nothing more than self -harming socialist envy politics
English

Let's not overdo it. A lot of them aren't British taxpayers. The point is that those who are contribute to the common weal. As do, for example, those who have private dental or healthcare insurance, and a private pension. Notionally, the state provides all these things; in practice, it has neither the money nor the infrastructure to do so.
English

@RupertLowe10 How do they get on with driving license or passport photos?
English

@Ms_H_298 @Langworthy_47 @MarcherReborn on average they pay way more, because if they can afford private school fees out of taxed income ….
English

@Langworthy_47 @MarcherReborn They never have done. No one ever recognises that parents who pay private school fees pay the same as everyone else does into the state school system.

Braving the cold at #HarrowSchool today for @lambsrugby tournament. Well done Harry et al … solid performances by the North&Mids lads against strong SWest and London/SEast teams….honours even at the end of the day and some great rugby on show.

@flawborough_fms @PerkinsLodge @TornumLtd Tom, if you were spread the whole life operating cost across your total expected grain production in that period what would it cost per tonne….:roughly?
English

@PerkinsLodge @TornumLtd It’s very much feast and famine. We will be over 10k/t this year. I would say yes tech is already doing so.
English

New colour sorter commissioning day. What a piece of kit! 5 channels cruising at 25t hour and likely we will get it to 30 once set up finishes tomorrow. The jump in technology since we bought our first one 11 years is remarkable. @TornumLtd

@mike_sangrey @robertlufkinmd Evidence where exactly? Along with the evidence it causes cancer in rats I’m guessing 🤔
English

@robertlufkinmd Roundup came into the market in 1974. There's evidence that it negatively impacts the microbiom. That, in turn, would impact how food is digested as well as signalling the brain that you're "full".

@CambsRuralCops @CambsCops @PCCCambs the photo with the dog in the back of the van is exceptional photography, well done

@Otto_English £12bn of which will be from Land Rover. Jaguar is sadly a busted flush and apparently have stopped building cars to clear stock, whilst they rebrand as an EV manufacturer. Smacks of desperation and is probably their last roll of the dice. RIP another iconic ‘British’ car marque
English

@steveridsda @TWBFarms Sadly an all too common occurrence, likely exacerbated by APR. Expecting it to last forever was nothing more than hubris Grasping the nettle of succession planning earlier, would have a far more profound and beneficial impact for the industry than merely avoiding IHT liabilities.
English

@Pigmungous @TWBFarms David, how do people engineer a workaround when their parent(s) are in their 80's or 90's?
English

utter nonsense Steve. - no farmer will buy land now, you have made British agriculture completely un investable
When I sell my family farm to pay this tax it will be bought by the very people ( probably based offshore !) you claim to want to stop
Your lack of understanding is incredible
Steve Reed@SteveReedMP
Half of farmland sold last year went to non-farmers including wealthy individuals trying to avoid inheritance tax. It's right that tax changes will ensure everyone pays their fair share - and young farmers can realise their dream of buying their own farm. theguardian.com/environment/20…
English

@Pxfarms You have to admire the chutzpah of a man, who effectively held open the door for this absolute sh**show of a government, to then turn out in support of the very industry he has now thrown under the bus, twice, in pursuit of his delusional narcissistic political ambition
English

@TWBFarms 2/2. there’s a raft of potentially far more damaging legislation waiting in the wings that may just get waved through whilst you’re burning what little credit we have with government on special pleading re APR
English

@TWBFarms You’re not that old Clive … and appear, outwardly at least, to have the wherewithal to engineer a workaround before it becomes an issue. Your hyperbole in the meantime does neither yourself nor your peers any favours. Have you considered that this might just be a diversion 1/2
English

@JoeWStanley don’t encourage them …. anything politically to the right of Karl Marx is a ‘far right group’ as far as those clowns are concerned
English

‘Far right groups plan to hijack farmer protest’
Of course. Exploiting despair & anger wherever they find it. Beware; they do not speak for the countryside. Let’s hope they’re given short shrift if they turn out.
