25. května v Severodonecku v boji proti ruským okupantům padl ukrajinský voják z Rivného Ihor Šalapin. V únoru ještě pracoval v Česku, ale když se dozvěděl o ruské invazi, hned 25. února stejně jako tisíce dalších Ukrajinců, odjel do Ukrajiny bránit svoji vlast. Čest jeho památce
