Update: I’ve called every airline & airport, including private. This flight through Georgia is my ONLY option but if LGA is still closed by then, I’ll be stuck in Atlanta for the night and have to go through the 6+ hour TSA line.

LGA is STILL closed following the tragic crash last night. I was supposed to fly from MIA-LGA at 11am and now I’m rerouted to Georgia, no guidance on when LGA will open. I have a comedy show at 7pm tonight to fundraise for victims of terror in Iran… WHO HAS A PJ LEAVING MIAMI?!

@DriverHawk @BuzzPatterson I’ve landed and JFK, LGA, and EWR plenty of times later in the evening when all I hear is “right on … to the gate with me”. Or the ATIS at tons of airports says “Ground and Tower combined on 119…”

@VizorIts @Alpha6066 @BuzzPatterson They’re all preventable. It’s the sad truth.. IMO the controller was doing his best to help United which had a fume even and definitely not an emergency. I can say from first hand experience that they were sick of the operation that day

@PilotRudy @BuzzPatterson It being the "norm" doesn't make it a great safety decision though. Especially at such a major airport. There was a separate emergency that the controller was also handling... they need more people on staff to be there in case something happens that increases workload.
