1) precisely how are we "losing" right now? Iran is destroyed and they're leadership is dead. Iran taking pot-shots at stuff out of desperation doesn't necessarily = loss. 2) what Strategic objectives did those academic institutions teach us to achieve in the GWOT? Looks to me like we wasted trillions, achieved very little, and only succeeded in radicalizing the American left in support is Islam

Pretty clear that the people doing this don’t know what “strategic warfighting” is Exhibit A is the war we’re losing right now.

I do occasionally comment on military matters… Claims that the Spain situation amounts to irregular warfare are *not* baseless, and should be considered. Very dangerous situation there.

@GovPressOffice The primary driver of CA's GDP is software. It's $1T or 25% of it. Aka the entire CA economy is just people paying to pass around 1's and 0's in computers. The other driver is overpriced real estate. That's not impressive. x.com/i/grok/share/6…

The 4th largest economy in the world — which grew faster last quarter than Texas and Florida (combined) — is showing a growing economy and a clean energy approach go hand in hand!
Colin McCarthy@US_Stormwatch

California just became the first major grid system on the planet to generate more than 50% of its electricity from solar across an entire month. Battery costs are falling rapidly, and utility-scale solar is among the cheapest sources of new power in the US. Solar is the future.

Sleep apnea is easily proven with a sleep study and has measurable, proven negative effects on your long term health. It's also well known that service members have a higher preponderance of it than civilians despite having generally better overall health. Tinnitus, much like the mental health stuff, is nearly impossible to prove or confirm with any measurable test. Though I'm sure 1000s of hours around turbine engines and whatnot contribute to it. That said, we can print trillions every year for illegals and fraud but we can't find $57B to pay service members for medically induced retirements? I'm calling bullshit on that one

TCAVA has little to no benefit to the service members that are currently serving on active duty unless they die and their spouse receives them. Shouldn’t we be fighting for the future veterans, just like the vets that fought to get us here? This is the situation we are in… People think tinnitus and sleep apnea needs to be reduced ( hurts future veterans ) MRSA only impacts people who are on the old retirement system ( no positive impact on future veterans ) And we are doing this because The VA is going to reduce a couple of disabilities anyway? I’m not seeing the argument and I’m not sure the American people want veterans benefits to become deals that are made behind our backs by politicians. That is all.

@davekammeyer it's totally possible to make a modern car engine run at 75% power all the time and not clatter itself to pieces. but you need a reduction gearbox that isn't made by bubba and jethro in any case the problem is lack of modern electronic injection/ignition etc mainly

Wow did you hear what those Republican congressmen said to that bad guy in the hearing? Lol man they really ripped him apart. It was so awesome. What’s that? Oh no the bad guy won’t be arrested or charged with any crime or suffer any consequences of any kind at all. No, there will be no follow up on the hearing, no relevant legislation passed in response to it, no changes of any kind made at all ever. But did you see that viral clip of that one senator? He even used a cuss word! A real cuss word! He’s so tough and brave. I’m so impressed. Aren’t you?

Sources involved in the US-Iran negotiations say the American concessions are substantial. Trump's people have expressed de facto willingness to pay Iran for ship passage through the Strait of Hormuz, contrary to international norms. Iran says it has sold $18 billion in oil since the US blockade of the Strait of Oman was lifted. - Israel Hayom

@beachhawk874 @C_3C_3 When did I say anything was well done? I simply said Fauci bears A LOT more blame for knowingly lying than Trump does. How is it a lose/lose situation for an SRO to stop school shooter

@DriverHawk @C_3C_3 His task force was literally in the White House and had nearly daily press briefings. I think that analogy is actually quite applicable. If you think everything Covid was well done, then by all means applaud the president, but you can’t have it both ways.

You have to give them credit… They checkmated Trump with Covid. Trump tells Fauci to get lost then the Media blame Trump for normal flu season deaths and Trump put on trial for it. Trump lets Fauci get his way then Fauci kills the economy and gets mass mail in ballots. Trump couldn’t win. It was a coup. That’s why Fauci needs to pay.

He did the make the tough choice though. It was a lose/lose scenario. Leaders are often to put into lose/lose situations such as "surrender or get your while platoon killed" and this was one of those situations. Rather than rag on Trump, I think the focus should on punishing Fauci for knowingly lying and manipulating the entire country. His "guidelines" cost trillions in GDP and put many people's businesses out of business.

@DriverHawk @C_3C_3 That is the excuse that people who should never be in leadership make. A leader is supposed to lead, not let events overtake him Furthermore, he was in the world’s most powerful job. If he didn’t want to make tough choices, he should not have had applied.

That's a bad analogy though. Did the school shooter in this analogy have leverage over the SRO? Because Fauci pretty much had a gun to Trump's head in the sense that he had the media ready to blame for Trump not doing whatever he said. In the moment, nobody would've been like "yeah ignore Fauci, he's a loon" so it was lose/lose. Fauci's own words seem to indicate that he was well aware of the effects his words had and the leverage he had.

Isn't that sort of the point, though? Trump was fucked either way. He had to either 1) do what Fauci was telling him which were blatant lies and ineffective (not to mention largely unconstitutional) practices or 2) ignore Fauci and have the media make him out to beat gigantic murderer. It was a lose/lose situation for him. I sort of agree with him not getting credit. The vaccine announcement by Pfizer was conveniently timed to be 3 weeks after the election was already concluded. Had that been announced before the election, Trump probably would've beaten Biden in a landslide.

@DriverHawk @C_3C_3 I am not making a statement of anything other than the fact he was in charge and as such all of the projections of the tyranny to society that people blame on his advisors apply to him. BTW he says he doesn’t get enough credit for the job he did to this day.
