This week, SIBA lost one of our most loyal. Our brother, @DubThompson_, was tragically killed when he was struck by a car while riding his ebike. The loss has left a chasm in his family that can never be replaced, as well as within his #SOE fam.
Dub loved this league, and most everyone in it. He looked forward to the future of SIBA & what it meant for guys like him. Guys who weren't the most skilled behind the controller, was never gonna be invited to the comp group chats. But in SIBA, like so many others in similar circumstances, he found a home. A place where his desire to play the game he loved, with the people he loved playing with, would be protected. A place where he can find ways to contribute to the community more off the court than on. He coached up so many current 2k pro am "stars", & coaching and running a team was something he enjoyed almost as much as playing.
We're never gonna forget you, Dub. We miss you. And we'll continue the SIBA mission of inclusiveness & being a safe space for all players, all across the skill level spectrum.
Please consider donating to Dub Wallace's family. No donation is too small. Give what you can. Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart.

We've raised over $1000 so far in today's cages for @DubThompson_ 's family. This is what #SOE means. We come together as a community. At the end of the day, 2K is just a game. But there's a real person behind every controller. Big shoutout to @cchoops246 for putting it together today. Its not too late to donate!

Today, in honor of @DubThompson_, who passed away suddenly & tragically late last night in a traffic accident, we are running a special @LiquidCages. $30 buy in with all proceeds going toward him and his family. Nobody makes a penny off the winnings, or running the tournament today. I haven't received any GoFundMe links yet, as @KHPJ97 is still grieving and is taking some time away from social media right now. As soon as I get something, it will be posted. One thing about the #SOE community, we always come together for one of our own.
If you're not a member of the Liquid discord, join below. Players play free, captains throw up the $30. If you wanna be a captain, understand there's no money to be won today. Your $30 is going toward helping Dub's family get through the sudden loss of a family member.

It is with a heavy heart that I announce that long time #SOE soldier, SIBA veteran, & owner of @SibaLinx @DubThompson_ passed away last night in a freak car accident. Dub Wallace was not just only a die hard SIBA member, he was also a good friend to many of us. He will be greatly missed. Please be on the lookout for any future GoFundMe links over the next few days as I encourage our community to come together & help his family during this difficult time. Thank you.

SIBA Court w/ judge @Anaheart__3 airs today at 2pm!
Every league bans players when they violate rules. Most leagues cant impose fines because those leagues arent worth paying for. SIBA is. And SIBA Court is the best platform to get your side of the story heard, & get whatever fines you have significantly reduced or removed completely.
If you've been banned or removed by an admin (especially @cchoops246) & they won't hear you out, and @2KsAdamSilver wont read or respond to your DMs, @Anaheart__3 will give you the chance to tell your side. She will give a 3rd party perspective from someone with no dog in the fight, who just wants to see SIBA grow & everyone to play together & get along. So if you think the admins are going on a power trip, abusing their admin privileges, if there was a huge misunderstanding, you "werent really cheating/didnt know you were in a zen discord", etc. your best bet is to get on SIBA Court. We'll even make sure the admin who packed you up is there for you to confront them. Bring your version of the events, screenshots, witnesses, vouches, proof, etc in front of hundreds of viewers. And if the admins were wrong, or on a power trip, expose em on SIBA Court in front of everyone. But, if it turns out you really got banned because you actually fucked up, its gonna come down to Pickles having mercy on you, and thats gonna depend on your attitude, your morale, your sincerity and your commitment to be a better teammate going forward.
We're really the only league that can do this, because there aint nothing else out there worth it for players to go thru this much trouble. Just load up on a burner or something, or not play. Other leagues are so desperate for players & activity, you probably wont even be banned for 90% of the things you couldnt get away with here. This is what keeps the #SOE community solid, and separate from the 2K pro am community. People make mistakes, have lapses in judgment, get emotional. If thats all it was, come to SIBA Court, turn your camera on, and lets hear your side.
And dont ever come on the show again.

🚨ATTENTION 🚨
SIBA has been at the absolute forefront of 2K player development. Since the very beginning, we were the only league that not only allowed any and everybody from all skill levels to play here, but we specifically targeted low skilled, 0 experienced players to build our league's foundation. In the 6 years since, we've developed a pipeline for new players to gradually & organically progress their game from Raw Prospect, to High School, to College, then to Pro. We developed this system with no rush & no pressure. Players were called up to the next level when they were ready. Soon after, we created the G League -- a developmental draft league running congruent to SIBA that allows Pro-ready players to continue improve their game & showcase their talent to scouts.
For 2K26 & beyond, we are looking to greatly expand our G League program tremendously. We want every pro level SIBA team to have its OWN G League affiliate, where pro teams can draft & sign rookies and assign them to their G League affiliate team to continue to develop their game. Think of Minor League Baseball...but for an NBA 2K pro am league.
To accomplish this, we will be expanding the G League to include more teams to accommodate the growth. We are also looking for any existing draft leagues who would like to partner with us, & join the SIBA umbrella as an official G League affiliate. Your teams would sign agreements with SIBA pro level teams & serve as a supplementation to our existing G League.
These leagues would be surrendering SOME autonomy, not all, but in exchange, your league will be completely reformatted & structured to match the SIBA standards we've upheld since 2K20. Your league will never experience forfeits, you will finish every season, never lack for players, & have games featured on The SIBA Network & TSN2. You'll have the full weight of the SIBA brand behind you, a brand synonymous with integrity, structure, unprecedented activity & competitiveness.
If your league is struggling & you're tired of chasing people down to get games in, consider joining the SIBA network. Together, we can change the entire landscape of the e-sport the way its never been thought of before.
Lets run this shit & put the power where it truly belongs, in the hands of the players! @cchoops246 @2K_Grinders_Inc @ZiG_VIP @NBA2KLeague @glizzvsyou @nba2kcmty @NBA2KMovement @2kProAmENews @2Kproamrecap @2kcommunity_ @The2KCentral

@StatenIsland2K Between me you and your wife the only cheater is the one you watch get fucked by better men than you. Nobody cheats on this shit more than siba kids. Worry less about a video game and more about your wife fucking other men.

One cheating nerd is winning all that desperation cash they're handing out in LBA just to get combine games going, but SIBA's the one depriving players of a chance to win money. If I never put a moratorium on SIBA guys joining that league 1) it would only result in about 100 players willfully going there and 2) the league still would flop ON DRAFT DAY because its being ran by amateurs who took the WR brand, a name synonymous with Pro Am itself, and ran it's draft league into the ground. It was only when Ev commissioned myself & @cchoops246 to go into the actual UPA server & give Select a proper send off did it EVER complete in its entirety, with no forfeits, & resulted in payouts rather than refunds. These guys were bitter ever since, that the SIBA crew had to go in there and do their job for them. They're still bitter. They'll always be bitter because its easier to blame SIBA for their dying pro am ventures than to actually put in the work myself and my admin crew have been putting in for the past 6 years.
I've dealt with this a dozen times before. People take shots at you when you're at the top, especially when you do it independently, with no help, no vouches from the community hierarchy. They hate the blue collar feel of SIBA in an otherwise white washed sanitized 2K community. They cant stand it. This whole "you play there, we play here" was borne from me no longer being in a position where I have to tolerate it. We're keeping the toxicity of the 2K community OUT of #SOE. I've said it repeatedly over the years, SIBA is more than just a league. Its a movement. We take care of each other here. This is the first & only place in the 2K community where the comp, the 2KL pros, the streamers, the casuals, the rec randoms, and the new players all convene over their shared love of virtual basketball. We got amateurs with 30% win in rec teaming up with former pros. Streamers teaming up with fans. All in meaningful pro am games. This is the community i cultivated over the past 6 years. If I dont want you here, you won't be here. If you dont wanna be told where to play, I respect it. Go play elsewhere. We're always growing, always making new moves, and none of it is possible without the love of OUR community, & im gonna protect the sanctity of this community always. Besides having to pass the vibe check, its only a matter of time before desperation kicks in & playground codes get sniped just to get combine activity.
I dont even have to address the pot shots & subliminals popping up on twitter by these people because none of it is getting any retweets or activity. Nobody cares about these people, or their leagues, anymore. They're dinosaurs clinging to a bygone era. Go on twitch and scroll down the side menu & see all the streams with SIBA in their title. Must make yall sick to your stomachs. Its a privilege to have me even acknowledge yall. Remember when it wasn't like that? When we were the "shitter league" with all rec randoms? I'll always remember that shit, & that's why ill never get too big, too popular, & too detached to keep putting belt to ass, boot on the neck. I'll beat that dead horse in my spare time for fun. Til the next time yall need a reminder...

Season 35 begins the new Salary Cap era in SIBA. It is a revolutionary & paradigm shifting system that will continue to keep SIBA as the most competitively balanced NBA 2K 5v5 to ever exist. It ensures that only the most knowledgeable, dedicated, & hardest working General Managers will compete for championships. It also provides a realistic opportunity for bottom tier franchises to turn their fortunes around by working the draft & becoming salary cap savvy.
Under the new salary cap system, each pro franchise will have $100 of virtual money to spend on keepers. The keeper value of each player corresponds to their tier in the Liquid Cages. Those players who are not in the Liquid Cages discord server & thus have no tier are ineligible to be kept & must return to the draft after every season. For those who are in the Cages & have a tier (1-10), the keeper costs are as follows;
Tier 1 = $70
Tier 2 = $60
Tier 3 = $50
Tier 4 = $40
Tier 5 = $30
Tier 6 = $20
Tier 7 = $10
Tiers 8 thru 10 = $5
The only exception to these costs are players that are known as Dynasty Players. Those are players that were either drafted, traded for, or signed as free agents and retained in their rookie season. Any player rostered as a rookie will keep a significant discount against the cap for as long as they remain with their original franchise. Once the Dynasty Player is released, traded after their rookie season, or sent back into the draft, they are no longer considered a Dynasty player & their value will convert to a standard keeper. The keeper costs for Dynasty Players are;
Tiers 1-3 = $15
Tiers 4-6 = $10
Tiers 7-10 = $5
Regardless of keeper costs or Dynasty status, all keepers will still need to be retained using their previous draft pick cost. Even if your keeper is a Dynasty Player with a $15 max salary cap cost, if he is a 1st round keeper he will still continue to cost a 1st round pick. Under the old rules, all keeper players are to be returned to the draft except for one franchise player at the beginning of every new 2K release. With the new salary cap system, ALL Dynasty Players are eligible to be kept in perpetuity, so long as you have the draft collateral to keep them, & they are the ONLY players that are eligible to be kept. It still needs to be mutually agreed upon by the keeper players and owner/coach, but now only Dynasty Players can be retained from 2K to 2K & all other players must be returned to the draft pool, & there is no limit to how many Dynasty Players you can keep. Thus creating a real pathway to building a true Dynasty in SIBA.
A player's tier can be fluid from season to season; meaning, they can go up or down depending on extended performance. The tier changes & subsequent fluctuation of a player's salary cap keeper cost are determined by the SIBA Commissioner @2KsAdamSilver. Fluctuating keeper costs can catch a coach or owner off guard, altering & sometimes even derailing plans going from one season to the next. Because of this, an owner or coach can enter Salary Cap arbitration, a process in which an owner or coach can challenge the Commissioner's tier & cap cost change by sitting with a 3rd party arbitrator. The Commissioner will give his reasoning for the change, the owner/coach will give their reasons for disputing, & both parties agree to move forward with whatever decision the arbitrator makes. The arbitrator for all cases will be Liquid Cages owner/founder @cchoops246, who, as the owner/founder/primary operator of the Cages, will have the authority to override the Commissioner's decision regarding a player's tier. The arbitrator may find in favor of the League, in favor of the team, or may go in a different direction entirely & even increase the player's tier beyond that of the Commissioner's suggestion. Whatever the arbitrator decides is final.
Dynasty Players are not eligible for salary cap arbitration. The only players eligible for salary cap arbitration are players with 3 or more seasons of tenure under the same team trying to keep them, & keepers that are being moved UP a tier, not DOWN (why would you challenge a tier down decision?). The arbitration case must be heard BEFORE DRAFT DAY, not the DAY OF, and not during a season. The sooner an owner/coach applies for salary cap arbitration, the better.
This is the first off-season of the salary cap era, & it is already paying dividends. Players that have been with the same team currently since their rookie seasons are getting their Dynasty Player discounts retroactively honored, leading to quite a few teams holding onto the players they originally drafted fresh out of college. Trades involving frivolous exchanges of draft picks will reduce drastically, there will be more of an emphasis on player development rather than competing for established talent & "big names", & continuity and chemistry will be far more valuable than individual talent in the very near future as franchises adjust their pre-draft strategies accordingly. We believe the introduction of the salary cap brings SIBA one step closer to truly becoming THE NBA 2K League. The future for 5v5 pro am looks BRIGHT!

No one should ever be or feel alone for Christmas. I've personally been there, more than once, that's reality for more than you'd think. If you wanna escape all that "Christmas spirit" surrounded by people telling you that you should be around family for the holidays & they dont understand your situation, playground runs in the SIBA discord do go heavy non stop on all holidays. Nothing to be ashamed of, SIBA is a safe space for that. If I see any negativity in my discord regarding people playing 2K on Christmas you will be banned with a hefty fine. If I see it on the Timeline just tag me and I'll abuse the shit outta anyone doing it. You dont know everyone's story so just mind your business, wish those around you a Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays, & go about your day.
