@QuanticASI The Gödillian engine of intelligence is God. Humanity is one multi-cellular instance. Interpretations within form factions but mostly agree with each other in the blackspace as they mechanistically function using the same cognitive engine.

@SonOfAnchis3s "competing to be better than their competition" vs "competing to knock their competition down a few pegs" is same thing Also, if women had more inherent value, you wouldn't have had mass infant murder in china/india. Depends on cultural values at a given time.

Male and female intrasexual competition is a result of the differing gendered manners of existing in the world. The male is born worthless, always becoming. The male intrasexual dynamic reflects this: men compete by trying to be better than their competition. The female is born with intrinsic value, as the bearer of life, simply being, rather than becoming. The female intrasexual dynamic reflects this: women compete by trying to knock their competition down a few pegs. The man, in search of his value, seeks to ascend the hierarchy. He is wired from birth to reach. The woman, assured of her value, seeks to displace and disqualify any who may compete with her. She is wired from birth to protect her value, rather than create it.

It's pretty remarkable how, within maybe 4-5 years, we went from a quasi-millenarist environment of fear about climate change premised on the idea that we were just a few years away from the end of the world to a situation where almost nobody talks or gives a shit about it anymore. There may be a lesson here about the dangers of hyping a risk, which I think might soon become relevant to discussions about AI, because although the apocalyptic cult that developed about the risk posed by climate change was ridiculous, it's not as if the problem had magically disappeared either.

Both sides of the political spectrum seem to prefer either x or y bias. In reality, the nature of the goals we encounter and the machines we control civilizationally change. The species must maintain dynamic control of both gain "constants". The right is making precisely the same mistake the left made in trying to suppress the other "for the good of humanity" - with a different hat on. @Grimezsz for president, 3rd path

This is her vaginal microbiome report. 100/100 score. Top 1% of all vaginas. Her sample is dominated by the single most protective bacterial species a vagina can host (Lactobacillus crispatus). Only about 25-30% of reproductive age women globally are L. crispatus-dominant, and “dominant” usually means above 50%. Kate is at 98.7%. The lab found nothing bad to report. (no gardnerella, Candida, STIs, opportunistic pathogens, aerobic vaginitis markers, etc.) This is linked to lower risk of BV, UTIs, yeast infections, HPV persistence, HSV-2 and HIV acquisition, preterm birth, and improved IVF outcomes. A vaginal microbiome is downstream of everything: sleep, glucose control, stress, gut health, sexual health, immune function, what you eat, and what you put in it.

The sexual revolution was marketed as liberation for women, but in practice, it liberated men from every obligation they used to have toward women. Before the sexual revolution, a man who wanted access to a woman had to offer marriage. He had to commit, provide, and prove himself worthy. Sex was reserved for the marriage bed, and this gave women enormous leverage in selecting the best possible husband. The sexual revolution removed all that. Women were told casual sex was empowering. And men were happy, they could get everything they wanted without offering anything in return. Fifty years later, women are more sexually available than ever and lonelier than ever. They gave away their only bargaining chip and got nothing except heartbreak and men who see no reason to commit. The revolution wasn't for women. It was for men.

Seems likely to me that resource abundance would create divergence: those more likely to leave colony stability, and those more likely to hyperspecialize. Coming soon to your TV: how an abundance of processed carbohydrates resulted in 3 generations of argumentative retards.

@elonmusk The system itself is intelligent, because it can adjust its own control constants in response to existential or cohesion threats

There's (1) the mechanism of consciousness (blend of cognitive + metacognitive control loop) + (2) the information set an individual has at a given time which have been curated by environment + (3) hormonal/biological control gains which bias behavior. It's not a free cost to rehabilitate (2) and (3) for conformance, nor does it always succeed. Leftism simply states you can create uniform homogeneity across vast populations, using the principle of (1) being universal, including universal failure modes. You're in the middle of a 20 year project to stabilize populations using (1) as a basis. If populations are stabilized like that, they become robust against internal division. However, they may become insufficiently reactive against external threats. Essentially the theme of pluribus. Given how slowly we responded to climate change, and how the dominant energy of the problem was 'give up and don't reproduce'. rather than 'all hands on deck' it is fair to state our society is focusing too much on enmeshment and needs to be more reactive. It is not the tendency for stabilization which is inherently bad, it is delays which prevent the ease of transition between the two states to lag behind the nature of the observed problem (internal vs. external).

@r0ck3t23 I think capitalism is an invention which addresses a need. Humans fundamentally need to work, but don't understand that they need to work. Otherwise they drift into metacognitive loops which exhaust energy without outputting function which is inherently depressive.

Elon Musk just said the quiet part out loud about government and AI. Musk: “AI is moving 10 times faster than government, maybe more.” Not slightly ahead. Not a few years out in front. Ten times faster. And pulling away. Every regulatory body on earth runs on the same architecture. Committees form. Hearings are scheduled. Legislation is drafted, debated, revised, and passed. By the time a law exists, the thing it was written to govern has already moved three generations beyond it. That architecture was built for a world that moves at human speed. This world does not. Musk: “The one thing that the government can do is just issue people money.” Not regulate. Not protect. Not steer. Issue money. That is not a policy position. That is a surrender. The most powerful governments on earth, sitting on top of the most sophisticated legal and military infrastructure in human history, reduced to a single remaining function. Sending people checks. Because they cannot move fast enough to do anything else. Now sit with what that actually means. For ten thousand years, the central bargain of civilization was simple. You contribute labor. Society functions. You eat. The system needed you. That bargain is being quietly retired. The machine does not need you to run the factory. Does not need you to process the paperwork. Does not need you to write the code or drive the truck or staff the call center. And the government already knows it. Musk: “Nobody’s gonna starve is what I’m saying.” He is right. The floor is rising. Survival is becoming guaranteed. That should feel like the finish line. For most of human history, it would have been. But here is what nobody is saying out loud. The hard part was never survival. The hard part is what happens to a species that spent ten millennia being defined by its need to survive, the moment that need disappears. Purpose is not something the government can deposit into your account. A check covers rent. It does not answer the question of what you are for. When the thing that organized your days, justified your effort, and gave your life a legible shape gets handed to a machine, you do not automatically inherit freedom. You inherit a void. And a void with a guaranteed income is still a void. The people who will matter in this era are not the ones who cash the check and wait. They are the ones who hear the starting gun in it. For the first time in history, the baseline is solved. Which means the only question left is the one every generation before yours was too buried to ask. What are you actually here to build.
