Here is my #CrimsonDesert review after roughly 150 hours. I don't anticipate that it will change too much by the time I have finished with the game. Gameplay/Mechanics: 8/10 There is a lot to do in this game, and I mean A LOT. You can easily dedicate sessions to one particular area of the game that interests you; exploring, the abyss, main story, side quests, the camp, decorating your house. The list goes on. The combat can be as complex as you like, although it's easy to resort to spamming heavy attacks, and with the right weapons and gear, you can get by. Movement feels smooth and you can be very creative in how you move around Pywel. One feature I really wish they would add is the follow feature in The Witcher 3, it would be an excellent QOL addition. Graphics: 10/10 Simply put, this is one of the best looking games to date. Story: 6/10 The story is very basic, it's not bad by any stretch but it's just that, basic. I'm not particularly invested in Kliff as a character, and the option to play as Oongka and Damiane are completely unnecessary, I've only played as Oongka because the game forced me to. There are lots of side quests to keep you busy but this game really is about immersion in the world of Pywel and less about the storyline. Replay Value: 7/10 Plenty to see and do in this game that unless you sink a good 500+ hours into one save, there will still be lots to do in a second play through. And with the rate at which Pearl Abyss have been putting out updates and patches, there's always going to be something new in the game to experience. Performance: 9/10 I know there were some known issues at launch which were causing crashes and bugs that would stop progress in missions but I've not experienced any of this in my play through, not one crash. Again, props to #PearlAbyss for reacting so quickly to these issues. Overall Score: 8/10 An excellent game, with lots to sink your teeth into, I've not played anything else since it was released and I'm still enjoying each time I turn the game on. It's a must play game for me and we'll deserving of a score of 8. #GameReview #VideoGameReview #Gaming #PS5 #XboxSeriesX #PCGaming

@Heywood165 @GamewithDave I started this with buying back PS2 titles that I traded in. It's a slippery slope though, I'm now also keeping an eye on boxed N64 games even though I have the loose cartridges haha. Majoras Mask in good condition is well over £100 😲

@Pip_Playz @GamewithDave I too wish I’d never traded my old consoles and games as new gen systems were released. There’s actually some that I’m trying to buy back in good condition.

After years of streaming, people are starting to buy DVDs again because of price hikes, ads, and disappearing content. Fair move?

What I Ioved about Bethesda's titles prior to Starfield was the way in which they made me want to explore the worlds they created. Somehow in a game set in space, they managed to make exploration one of the worst parts of the game, with copy pasted buildings and lazy procedural generation.

This is why I love Bethesda games and don’t understand all the hate. #Starfield Call me a Bethesda fan-boy, I don’t care, because I most certainly am one. In the Fleet Deep Cover series, the evidence you find actually shows people ending up in the brig of the UC Vigilance. The brig officer is fascinated by the history of The Key and The Lock and asks you to find some literature on the history. Things like this you’d never come across if you mindlessly bust through quest series. This goes for Fallout and The Elder Scrolls as well—so much depth and richness, you just have to venture off the beaten path.

@1GamewithDave1 Here's a question, what console do I let my son start with? I think he should follow the same path as me and start with the N64. He only unlocks the PS2 after he's completed some games of my choosing and then the next gen etc. Or does he get current gen straight away?

@RinoTheBouncer @eurogamer Single player every day of the week. Middle Earth and the LOTR lore has an abundance of potential, it's hard to believe we haven't really gotten that great single player experience yet. I did LOVE the PS2 releases of The Two Towers and Return of the King though..

@LUCKYY10P Yes, it's awesome. Not perfect but very few are. Pearl Abyss have really achieved something with this game. Can't wait to see how they continue to develop the game and also now very excited for DokeV.

@Pip_Playz I actually don't blame Todd for how it turned out. Apparently he doesn't have as much control as with Skyrim. Now every feature or game addition has to be filtered through by corporate and there's like 6 people that have to approve everything before it's added in game

I'll just say it. Crimson Desert is what every gamer who played Skyrim in 2011 thought The Elder Scrolls 6 would look like.

Huge fumble if you ask me. I did finish the game but have no interest in replaying it, the exploration was boring, and the procedurally generated planets and buildings became too obvious too quickly. I also thought the ship building was overly complicated too and it put me off. I hope that Elder Scrolls 6 and Fallout used procedural generation at an absolute minimum, maybe just for bare bones.

@lastchalice I disagree, there is always going to be a market for physical copies of games, much like how there is still a market for DVDs, even though most of us probably can't remember the last time we used a dvd player.
