I’m not ashamed to say that I spent 2 hours in tears at work yesterday. I’d had enough of being shouted at despite doing my absolute best for my patients. I’m exhausted. The system is broken. My team are broken. And now I’m planning how to pay for Christmas AND new school shoes

@dr_emmacoombe @Xeon4f145d96s1 A lot of the recruitment was via a Whatsapp group and a lot of the voices on the group were loud and male. Asked a question and got some very curt & patronizing responses. Think lots of people feel it was "not the vibe"

In light of #MedTwitter's latest binfire (teabag-gate) I think it's useful to note that in an environment in which trusts are directly employing insufficient numbers of staff on unacceptable rates of pay; they need to consider non-pay factors which they can affect... 🧵

Modelling student loan debt data. Based on a debt of £88,210 when finishing med school. If you go direct from FY1 - ST8 with no time out of training for locum or working as a locally employed doctor this is you by the end of ST8. An increased debt of £32.5k despite paying £20k.
