@nickwhite1995 I can cop a pot as an alternative to a middy; that's just a difference in name. But I can't cop a schooner coming out in a 285ml glass when a schooner is a unit of measurement. Imagine if you asked for a Litre of water and they gave you 500ml. Makes no sense.
English

@Pistolla81 12.7 million Aussies call it a pot vs 12.1 mil a middy. Democracy says it’s a pot.
Common sense would call it a half pint 😂

@boostar83 Super Rugby died when it left Fox Sports imo. Betting has followed accordingly.

@frogedev @Math_files Can't be less than 50%, as the crazy person is 50% to sit in their assigned seat, which means you're 100% chance to get your assigned seat. Answer is 50% + the % of getting your seat if the crazy sits in a random seat. Haven't thought through the 2nd part yet!
English

@Math_files ~((ln 99)-1)/99, or~4%.
last:
1/2 he doesn't take your seat
2nd to last:
2/3 not taken, then 1/2 not taken. 2s cancel to 1/3
3rd: 3/4*2/3 *1/2=1/4
etc
this means it is the harmonic series (1/1 + 1/2 + 1/3 +1/4...) minus the leading 1, / 99 for 99 spots, which grows with ln x

There are 100 passengers waiting in line to board an airliner with 100 passenger seats.
The seats are numbered from 1 to 100. Each passenger holds a ticket with his seat number.
You are the last passenger in line.
One of the passengers ahead of you in line is crazy. We don’t know which one. He will ignore his seat assignment and sit in a random empty seat (the crazy person might sit in his assigned seat; he is equally likely to sit in any open seat).
Every other passenger will sit in their assigned seat — unless it is already taken, in which case they too will sit in a random empty passenger seat.
Passengers board one by one.
What is the probability that you will sit in your assigned seat?

The biggest takeaway for me on Australia's #T20WorldCup failure is that the squad contained too many players with little to no BBL form. A batter striking at 120 in BBL won't suddenly strike at 150 because he has in the past. The likelihood is that his skills are diminishing.

@Mon4Kooyong Sure, the industry's business model depends on people losing - that's the nature of gambling. But the majority of predatory behaviour has arisen due to tax increases. Companies can no longer afford to run ethical businesses in the main, without incentivising their biggest losers.
English

Australians are the world’s biggest losers when it comes to gambling. It’s a predatory system - the industry’s business model depends on people losing.
What makes it even more disturbing is the ongoing acceptance of donations, gifts and perks from gambling companies by some MPs and Senators. When elected representatives maintain ties like this to the very industry they are supposed to regulate, it becomes much less surprising that gambling reform, such as restricting or banning gambling advertising, continues to stall.

@LukeKrahe @ImShahinyan But the Rook on d8 moves to d7 first. You can't castle with pieces in between.
English

@Pistolla81 @ImShahinyan I have no idea what that means. Very much a novice. I just thought you couldn’t “castle” when there’s a piece in between. Looking at the pic, there is?
English

@LukeKrahe @ImShahinyan Rook moves to d7 first, so there's no piece between them when you long castle after white King is forced to h8.
English

@Pistolla81 @ImShahinyan Can you make that move if there is a piece in between them?

Carlos Alcaraz commemorates his Grand Slam wins with tattoos: the Eiffel Tower (French), a strawberry (Wimbledon), and a Statue of Liberty/Brooklyn Bridge combo (US). If he wins tonight, what's a tattoo that represents Melbourne? The MCG? The Crown logo? A tram? #AusOpen

The 12th game of the 3rd set is the epitome of why Novak Djokovic isn't loved in Australia. Every unforced error at crucial times was someone else's fault - the crowd, the umpire - anyone but himself. #AustralianOpen

Going out on a limb here - if that stuck and he stayed in the field of play, it's probably the best outfield catch ever. #BBL15

NFL play calling is wild. Rams 2nd & 7 on the 24, needing only a FG to win. A 42-yarder. Basically a chip shot by today's standards. They proceed to throw 2 deep balls into coverage, trying to ice it with a TD. In a 90-95% win spot, they're still willing to risk it all. #NFL

A lot will be said about the MCG wicket, but 80% of today's dismissals have been the result of poor technique or poor shot selection - the antithesis of successful Test match batting. #Ashes

Thank you, @anthonyjoshua, for restoring legitimacy into the sport of boxing with your stoppage of @jakepaul.
There is NOTHING worse than seeing pro fighters take a dive for money as Mike Tyson, and countless others before him did, for the sake of entertainment.
