@JakeParkerLIVE My personal belief is that Bungie has some amazing programmers and engineers, but their design has been an absolute dumpster fire, for the most part for the longest time. Destiny probably always should have been a Halo-esque product.

Woke up still frustrated and filled with so many questions. My biggest one is how Bungie - one of the most iconic AAA studios in gaming history - had ‘little-to-zero’ pursuit of anything beyond sustaining Destiny and launching Marathon; were they even pursuing ‘anything’ beyond this? Video games are a hard business of sustaining a company while simultaneously sustaining a product. In my time as an executive leader in games, one of the key components of good, effective leadership of this scale is ‘proactive’ decision-making; retrospecting your milestones & planning years ahead with the next major ideas to execute while ensuring sustainability in the short term. With all the news from yesterday about the game closure, D3 not even greenlit, layoffs imminent - what we’re seeing now from Bungie is evidently little-to-none of that; it’s all ‘reactive’ decision-making from a leadership team that focused heavily on a false sense of safe sustainability & IP genre picking over creative expansion. Destiny 3 should absolutely be the move here; Bungie’s literal flagship IP that followed Halo w/ one of the most cult playerbases in gaming history & fully immersive narrative worlds to build from over the last 12yrs. Sony/Playstation should reorganize Bungie completely, green-light Destiny 3, publicly announce it, dedicate a team to it, then go radio silent for the next 4-5yrs under their watch w/ pinpoint development. Keep the dev team for Marathon focused on lowering the niche entry as the focused extraction shooter it is, then lastly, have a small, dedicated hybrid incubation team composed of each discipline to focus solely on new IP ideas under the Bungie/Playstation wing while assisting with current development. The coming weeks of decisions are going to be brutal, but hopefully the right ones to build Bungie into a better entity moving forward.

83% of people believe men and women ‘should be equal in every way’, yet only 35% identify as "feminists". Conversion wise, that is a disaster. If four in five people want a product, yet after decades of market monopoly, only one in three buy it, maybe you're selling it wrong?

@MichaelGLFlood @TheTinMenBlog One way or the other, I think Feminism needs to take some level of acceptance of this, rather than denying it. It's the denial, I believe, that's causing so much harm. It would be easier to have less confidence, be less secure, etc. if it was socially acceptable to do so.

@MichaelGLFlood @TheTinMenBlog One final thing. I think these power-based approaches generate Toxic Shame. And there's zero protection, zero help for people suffering from it. It's not a recognized problem. Systemic power being used to judge morality rather than behavior generates this.

Today in Michael Flood: Professor Flood says that its TheTinMen's (and friends) fault that feminism has a bad image. Shares (his own) article proving why. Except he wrote this critique before my account even existed. Seems like he's back in his time machine again.

@MichaelGLFlood @TheTinMenBlog Coming to grips with the idea that the world would be a better place without you is a tough pill to swallow. I'm not opposed to it. But I think the social stigma of not wanting to actualize these ideas and encourage the shame, guilt and self-hate is a real barrier.

@MichaelGLFlood @TheTinMenBlog My own personal belief is that we are stuck in a toxic middle ground that's not doing anybody any good. People on one side see it as an attack on who they are, but people on the other side are not normalizing applying these ideas and giving up ill-gotten gains.

@magicinthealps Honestly I think we need more criticism of this stuff. That it goes unchallenged in the mainstream gives people the impression that these attitudes are the desired goal for progress.

@yoonchaand I think it's important to understand that those books would never have been written if the authors were questioning their own choices in the system. This stuff was never meant to be actualized. Speaking as someone who grew up doing so.

@allie__voss I actually think we've been working to lower the confidence of men. The problem is this hits the confidence of those already low harder, or even only them at all. This is the end result.

I truly do think that p*rn has conditioned young men to imagine attractive women with other men Normal, healthy men go "She'd be so into me" even if it's not entirely true. But when your brain is THAT steeped in that content, it ruins your confidence and model of the world

I think a lot of people need to come to terms with the reality that this show was deliberately driven into the ground because it became too popular with the "wrong types" of people in the eyes of the show runners. Be it The Man in the High Castle Be it Joker Be it Civil War Be it The Boys Any show/movie that has the interest of young, right-wing men will inevitably be driven into the ground due to hatred from its own creator over the audience enjoying it.
