@lab3studio This is the kind of system I personally want to recreate in unity, because I feel games could really benefit from NPCs just doing things. AI usually gets done well combat, but devs leave it at that. NPCs usually roam in an area beyond combat, which feels like untapped potential.

@ItzFlare_ It's seems more overwhelming than it is. This project stemmed from a not-so-nice-looking prototype, and he posted it probably after he worked on the game "feel" So while it seems more intimidating, think of it more as a "make it first, than make it work"

@thissmay It's hard in the sense that unlike other areas of study, in game development, you have to be so many different things. Game dev is like a superset of various areas of study you have to be proficient in, or the entire quality of the game suffers.

@lobotomy_user Theres an option to "swap subscription", I did so then canceled it with no charge. That was like 2 years ago, so I don't know if that loophole exists anymore.

@sebn3 @yousifa Apparently, billing is asynchronous. Meaning he thought he was granted unlimited usage, but the billing was logged elsewhere outside of scope, and a bill was calculated. Requests were run but not blocked, or charged immediately, but were later charged (from my understanding)

@sleitnick Doing fun projects/examples like that using functions and equations (or other objects) should be honestly prioritized. I would always learn the material, then go off on my own to apply it in a fun way. Why can't we just start with that in my opinion?

@sleitnick same with tangent line approximation to determine which direction an arrow could go (though only good for short distances really)

You can use the quadratic formula to make homing missiles properly lead and hit their target. I've used this in games for like a decade. I wish they'd use examples like that in math class. Give practical/fun examples. I hated math b/c it was too abstract. Gamedev made it fun.
