Sweden fully supports President @ZelenskyyUa proposal for a ceasefire starting at midnight tonight, and calls on Russia to follow Ukraine’s example and show that it is serious about ending the war.

The ceasefire initiated by Ukraine demonstrates our genuine commitment to peace. It is not tied to any specific dates for the sake of enforcing ideological dogmas, but aimed at saving human lives and restoring security. If the ceasefire announced by the President is reciprocated, we will continue to observe it. And this will give us at least a small glimmer of hope for achieving a lasting peace. By taking this step, the President of Ukraine has proven his commitment to peace to the entire world. The next move is Russia’s. Whether Moscow is ready to prove that human life has even the slightest value for them. We are closely monitoring every move by the enemy and are prepared for any possible developments.

Перемир’я, яке запровадила Україна, свідчить про справжнє бажання миру з нашого боку. Не у прив’язці до якихось дат заради насаджування ідеологічних догм, а заради збереження людського життя та відновлення безпеки. Президент України цим кроком довів усьому світові свою відданість миру. Наступний крок – за рф. Чи готова Москва довести, що людське життя для них має бодай якусь цінність?
