My brother had to say goodbye to his dog of 14 years today and chose to do at home euthanasia. Six adults and two kids sat around the dog in their front yard to tell him how loved he was. We were all sobbing of course and my 5yo nephew got up and went inside at one point. I assumed everyone’s grief was too much for him in a situation he couldn’t fully understand.
