George Carlin infected Gen-X with this horrible apathy towards everything. The statue doesn’t just mock nationalism but belief itself. Any ideology, any group, any loyalty. It’s like they think they’re the first person to discover ideologies or positions all have tradeoffs, and because they’re not perfect it’s better to stand against them all. It’s as childish as it is false. A few minute conversation with anyone who puts on this front will quickly reveal which ideologies they feel are above such critiques. When exposed that John Stewart wry smile turns into the most vitriolic anger you’ve ever seen.

@suespensley I understand what you're feeling but reform isn't the answer, they are untested and really not to be trusted. Maybe look at the greens or the Lib Dems? Although I am a labour supporter I would rather vote Tory than reform.

I'm not a racist or a fascist I am a mum and grandma who has worked from 15years until my retirement I have always loved my country but am so disillusioned with the present and past governments who have let the country down in many ways That's why I am voting for Reform 🩵🩵🩵

@Ostrov_A The big difference is that in 1935 it was support for the NAZIS that was the threat. Today, in the UK, it is the immigration of Muslims that is the threat. Mass immigration of Muslims is the problem.
