He lies for fun — Keyamo tackles Peter Obi over his airport hara§§ment claim Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has accused the 2027 Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, of deliberately lying over an incident at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. Keyamo made the allegation on Thursday during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, where he strongly criticised Obi over his account of the incident. “That man was lying. He lies like a fish drinking water. He lies. He lies for fun,” Keyamo said. According to the minister, Obi had complained of being hara§§ed at the airport because of his political affiliation. Keyamo, however, faulted the former Anambra State governor for making such an allegation, arguing that it was unfair for an opposition presidential candidate to claim he was hara§§ed at the airport without allowing room for verification. The minister had earlier issued Obi a one-week ultimatum to pay a fine and apologise to workers at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport for allegedly portraying them as persecutors. Keyamo maintained that the airport incident had been misrepresented and challenged Obi’s account of what transpired.
