@shlummi @boneGPT While effective, I didn't enjoy my ~6 month run on tirz, primarily b/c it is way too easy not to eat and then you get the fatigue/muscle loss issues. But yeah it killed the urge to drink and was generally unpleasant to drink on. It took almost a year enjoy drinking socially again

This will significantly raise the price of rotisserie chickens and may even limit their availability. Hot rotisserie chickens are only good under the heat lamps for about four hours. In current state, as unsold chickens approach their 4th hour, most retailers will pull the chicken from the hot rack and move it to the freezer to rapidly drop the temperature. Once dropped, they then repackage it as a chilled chicken product for resale (has been SNAP eligible) at a reduced price. By having this outlet for overproduction, retailers have been able to lower their throw-aways and protect their margin. Moving forward, retailers will have to raise their prices to offset the decreased demand for chilled chicken or lower their risk of overproduction. Either way, we will soon see increases in prices for rotisserie chickens.

@Electrikhan_ @devintoshea I'm honestly surprised with all the love for the screwdriver ones, but people have different use cases. I have full sets at home/work and a small kit in my car. I've cut myself more being dumb than I have found myself needing a screwdriver unexpectedly. So gut hook for me.

@PoeticEdamame @devintoshea Almost there. I live by this one. That's a real reversible slotted and phillips screwdriver. Without the screwdriver, the only special thing about the Milwaukee knives is the wire clip.

@shotgun562002 @devintoshea Milwaukee doesn't make auto OTFs and they're more appropriate with business casual. If it's a field day though I've stopped doing that, scraping dirt out a point with a several hundred dollar knife is just silly. Same as field days get the cheap G-shock rather than a nice watch.

@upstatefederlst While Sysco deserves most of the slander they get, with flour and other stuff you can buy the cheaper or nicer tiers, though idk if KAF sells thru them anymore but they do for other bulk suppliers. The real scam is the "baked fresh in house" bread that's just frozen Sysco loaves.

I am here to tell you that the "good bread" from the "specialized hipster bakery" is most likely using bulk ingredients from the same Sysco and pouring them into this thing:

This guy is in a lot of legal trouble. If the slide blew (I don’t think it did) I hope Delta sues him, too. You hear the Captain on the PA system. The pilots are not going to come out when people start acting this way. We are now locked down & assume there may be other threats; this could be a coordinated distraction to take control of the cockpit. Any kind of disruption like this is taken very seriously & we default to safety mode. The police are going to meet the jet. Now, here is what you might need to know… If the Flight Attendants ask for help, get up & help them. They are trained to defuse these situations as much as possible, but can only do so much. When you are seated, the Flight Attendants will look around for passengers that might be able to help if things get physical. Do NOT do this on your own initiative…wait for the FAs to ask, then follow their instructions. They know what equipment is on the jet & where to put these people. Our security departments spend a lot of time thinking about this stuff & giving us training for it. As much as I’d love to come storming out of the cockpit with the crash axe in hand, the cockpit door will not be opened in these circumstances.

@TheManlet_King They do go thru tires slightly faster to a comparable ICE car just because of the batteries add some weight. The red in the tires though are from all the regenerative braking stuff which actually saves some wear on the brake pads.

So not only are they basically their away cars after 10 years because of the staggering cost of replacing the batteries, but you eat through tires faster too? Dang that sucks.

@kane This is why you're starting to see domestic plans for EREVs so that people can get over range anxiety/not have to deal with the charger network 100% of the time.

An electric vehicle charged by an ICE generator is more efficient than an ICE vehicle bc a generator always operates in its power band close to max thermodynamic efficiency. Even w transmission loss, this gives significantly higher miles per gallon than an ICE car.
