💥ISC has revealed the government is withholding Peter Mandelson’s vetting file despite not having authority to do so. In extraordinary intervention, the powerful committee has criticised government over its handling of release of papers - effectively accusing ministers of failing to comply with parliament’s will. theguardian.com/politics/2026/…

Last year's Unite the Kingdom rally = 23 arrests Notting Hill carnival = 443 arrests Palestinian marches = >500 arrests. I'm not making a point about race. I'm looking at the facts about the threat level. This is @Keir_Starmer trying to hate-bait you into violence. RISE ABOVE his attempts to divide the country. Wave your flags. Drink your flasks of tea. Hug strangers - just like last year. And celebrate our history, our shared culture and our potentially great nation. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

The PM has shifted from ‘Island of Strangers’ empathy for people worried about mass migration to hysterical denunciations. The only thing these positions have in common is that both are products of Keir Starmer’s desperation and failure. x.com/keir_starmer/s…
Keir Starmer@Keir_Starmer

I’ll always champion peaceful protest. But the Unite the Kingdom march organisers are peddling hatred and division. We’ve already blocked visas for far-right agitators who want to come here to spew their extremist views. They don't speak for the decent, fair, respectful Britain I know.

You have permitted “offensive banners, slogans, chants & symbols” on the streets week in and week out…. The second the working classes wish to come out, you “issue new legal guidance”.

Mental how people think that not wanting illegal unvetted men from cultures that view women & children differently to how we do here being allowed to break in sponge off the state & be place in our communities somehow equates to being anti immigration. What’s going on is disrespectful to all the hard working immigrants that went through the right channels & became valuable members of society like my family. It’s you politicians that have allowed this to happen & the crimes that have come with it to cause division. Not the people, of all races complaining about it.

Come off it, Yvette. You’ve just let in the 200,000th small boat invader. There is an incalculable threat to women and children posed by undocumented young males. But you’re tinkering about the edges of the ECHR. It’s a national disgrace.
Yvette Cooper@YvetteCooperMP

Following months of dedicated UK diplomacy, 46 countries meet today at the Council of Europe to agree critical reforms modernising the way the ECHR deals with migration - supporting the UK to take firm action on border security. It is the work we do internationally which makes us stronger at home.
