A regime that will not hesitate to murder tens of thousand of its own people within a few days for the “crime” of dissent;
and moreover will not hesitate to hold the entire global economy hostage;
and moreover will not hesitate to wage war against its “enemies” with every weapon at its disposal;
and moreover is actively seeking nuclear weapons while holding an ideology that imposes the duty to use them against Israel and the West like one of Immanuel Fucking Kant’s categorical imperatives;
and moreover is using its oil money to finance all of the foregoing;
is an existential threat to every other human being on the planet, and needs to be destroyed in self-defense.
Either the rest of the world is up to this task, or it isn’t. It’s a choice, with both immediate and long-term consequences. We better choose wisely.

@LiberalLab @KenGardner11 No masks & use judicial warrants. Those are the two (quite reasonable) demands from Dems. I don't blame them at all. There should be no debate necessary over abiding by the law and how free people are to be policed.

@KenGardner11 Who the fuck is defunding ICE? It already got $75B in mandatory funding in OBBB. That's at least twice last years budget. Dems are holding up $10 billion in discretionary funding. If you dipshits would claw back what Noem & her boytoy stole, ICE would be funded forever.

To their great credit, the US Catholic Bishops and prominent Catholic lay leaders are pushing back forcefully against those who want to spread hostility to Jews and Judaism in the Catholic community. They are standing up for the teachings of the Second Vatican Council, the modern popes, and the Catholic Catechism on the brotherhood of Jews and Christians and the sinfulness of antisemitism. As a rule, I dislike religiosity in politics. For one thing, it tends to cheapen or pervert religion. For another, it is usually demagogic. Pete Hegseth has only confirmed my view. (Say this for Trump: he makes no pretense to religion. One of his virtues!)
