Re; today’s cancellation- I completely agree with @andyserling. Nothing more needs to be said. Our presence in this sport stems from a shared passion, and we must recognize that it is a contracting sport. If we fail to collaborate, we will only hasten its decline when we should be working together to grow the game again. - Matt C

It is with deep sadness that our stable confirms that Dazzle d’Oro sustained a catastrophic injury this morning during training. He received immediate attention and was sent to Rood & Riddle Equine hospital a mile away from the race track, but due to the severity of the injury we were left with no humane alternative and he was euthanized to prevent further suffering. I want to thank the track staff, the veterinarians and the hospital staff for the immediate care and attention Dazzle received. Everyone in our barn feels a deep loss & our thoughts and prayers are with the owners and all who worked with him.

@RepoleStable @OBSSales Love it! I have a boatload of other things that need to be changed within the sale but this is a great start. Let’s make it happen!!!

As many of you know, I have concerns about the speed of the works @OBSSales and what could be both short and long-term physical and mental ramifications of teaching a young horse to just sprint under 10 seconds. I love the concept of 2YO sales and think they are an important part of the industry, and I think they can be even bigger if we made some improvements. One of the Derby favorites is Sandman, who came out of the OBS 2YO Sales last year where he actually galloped, and brought $1.2 million. Painfully, I know this, as I was the underbidder at $1.15m. 😔🤦‍♂️ I want 2YO Sales to flourish and continue to be a big part of the Thoroughbred industry, but evolving it to where horses don’t run under 11 seconds. I’m fine with 11.2, 23.4 and 36, with a minimum two-furlong work. Owners, trainers, or bloodstock agents can easily pick out top prospects within these parameters. I am confident that this will not only draw more buyers, but also generate more revenue. I, for one, and I’m sure many others, wouldn’t be afraid to spend up to $5 million at these sales. Remember, Sandman GALLOPED and brought $1.2 million!!!!! Let’s not forget, six months earlier at the yearling sales, buyers will pay $2-3 million on a horse that only walks!!!!! 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️😂😂🤣 Let’s Make Racing Great Again!!!!! What are your thoughts??? 🤔

It’s sad that so many people in the horse racing industry are greedy and selfish!!!!! If you really want transparency, then let’s really regulate the entire sport!!!!! Let’s empower HISA with regulation of all horses, not just horses at the track. Let’s start testing every 2YO in training on the farms, and every 2YO that is in a sale. Let’s require documentation on all surgeries be disclosed - so potential buyers are aware and so vets at tracks know. Provide full regulatory access to all breeding farms, sales companies and vet records. License every Bloodstock agent and Consignor. Let’s have all ABC Organizations or entities that are funded by the industry report openly on key decisions, goals and results. They should be treated like public companies.
