The filibuster is a Senate rule that lets a minority of senators delay or block legislation by requiring 60 votes to end debate. With the partial @DHSGov shutdown now in its 7th week, pressure is growing to reform or bypass the filibuster to restore funding. Shutdown update: The House passed a short-term bill Friday to fund the DHS for eight weeks, sending it back to the Senate, where Sen. Schumer (D) called it “dead on arrival.” As the stalemate enters its seventh week, Pres. Voter rolls are official @NVSOS records of registered voters. Federal law requires states to keep these lists accurate and up-to-date. In Nevada, registrations are reconciled against @NevadaDMV, Social Security, and death records. Voters can be removed if they move out of state or show no activity in two consecutive federal elections — never simply for not voting.
