Yeah. And that broad would likely be thinking about those things a little more, and with a heightened sense of awareness, than a man. I'm not defaming woman. I wouldn't have spent my life with if I didn't like them. Your scenario reversed. Every man is thinking about his penis. We got shit too, that preoccupies us.

@oolon The fact that JKR isn't an anti trans bigot is what proves that your daughter hasn't applied critical thinking to this imagined ideology.

My daughter can't stand her because shes an anti trans bigot, neither can all her LGBTQ+ friends. I'd bet she can apply critical thinking to Rowlings ideology a lot better than she can, the patronising gimp
Bad Writing Takes 🖊️🏳️‍🌈@BadWritingTakes

JK Rowling is in conspiracy mode. She is claiming that young people hate her because "that's the online culture" I suppose in the sense that if you're exposed to even a small portion of JK Rowling's online behaviour it would probably lead any half-way decent person to hate her

For goodness sake, she looks like a woman, she lives as a woman, if she says she’s a woman then she is. This is nothing short of spiteful, narrow minded bigotry.

As storms and floods devastate Gaza, some major Western media organisations are completely ignoring it. BBC, for example, doesn't have a story on the flooding, or any story at all about Gaza, on its world news homepage right now. There are 46 stories on the homepage.
Gaza Notifications@gazanotice

🚨In Gaza, a little girl clings to her grandfather, shaking from the cold as rainwater pours into their tent. She’s searching for the slightest bit of warmth to calm her shivers a scene as devastating as the storm outside.

@straycomrade @helenstaniland Male adults can always force themselves into women's spaces. But making this legal and without consequences is not a progressive stance.

@helenstaniland Male adults always have access to female spaces. If you think a bathroom sign is stopping anyone, you place too much stock and in decorum. Plus there’s nothing to prove trans women are predators. Transphobia is just the modern conjunction between homophobia and misogyny.

@according2_taz But this is exactly what abuse does. It drags children into depraved and sordid worlds so they lose their sense of what is decent behaviour. Just because Andrew wasn't the first to abuse her doesn't make it any less wrong. She is still a victim.

I know many may not agree with me, but Virginia was no saint. She recruited young girls to go into that same depraved and sordid World, some of which, I’m certain were younger than her! She had a shitload more ‘famous’ clients than Andrew as well. And where were her family?

@soniasodha I'm also a feminist. The state already has rules about clothing, as in how much of our bodies we should cover up. There's nothing illiberal about demanding that people show their faces in public, which has implications for both security and social cohesion.

As a feminist, I don't like what the burqa represents. But the idea the state should ban citizens from covering their faces in public, as they have done in France, is deeply illiberal.
Noa Hoffman@hoffman_noa

Robert Jenrick becomes the first Tory shadow cabinet member to call for a burqa ban He says: "I probably would ban the burqa. "There are basic values in this country and we should stand up and defend them." Follows moves by Giorgia Meloni's party in Italy

@zoverions @jk_rowling If the debate is about the definition of woman, why do you start talking about 'womanhood'? Nobody believes that 'womanhood' is an innate biological status. But being a woman is being one of the two biological sexes. Gender is a cultural concept and nothing to do with biology.

The core of this debate is a conflict over the definition of "woman." J.K. Rowling promotes a biologically essentialist view, stating womanhood is an innate biological status. MY framework rejects her position as exclusionary, harmful to transgender people, and a violation of the fundamental right to cognitive autonomy. The second view, from a trans perspective, defines a woman as someone who "puts in the work," which powerfully validates the journey of transition but is problematic as a universal rule because it can lead to gatekeeping. My framework affirms the third view: womanhood is grounded in self-identification. This is the only position that is fully inclusive, respects individual autonomy as a primary value, and correctly understands gender as an internal identity (consciousness) rather than a simple reflection of biology.

@DPJHodges Isn't it antisemitic to make assumptions about Jews? Many of them oppose Israel's current activities in Gaza. Some of them were demonstrating today. You shouldn't make sweeping generalisations about people based on their faith and ethnicity.

British Jews knew this was coming. The drip drip of recreational antisemitism weekend after weekend, BBC report after BBC report obsessing after Jews as uniquely evil, campuses and workplaces being unsafe to be publicly Jewish. This country has a serious antisemitism problem.
