Breaking news Brazilian Drug Smuggler Arrested at OR Tambo SAPS have arrested a 26-year-old Brazilian national at OR Tambo International Airport on Sunday after finding cocaine worth R8.7 million in her luggage.The suspect, a transgender woman, arrived on a flight from Brazil. Officers discovered multiple blocks of cocaine hidden in her bags during a search. The woman is expected to appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 28 April 2026, on drug trafficking charges.

Mahikeng is in mourning after a deadly armed robbery at Totobola Butchery claimed the lives of its owners, Sergio “Search” Gomes and his wife, Marlene “Ma-Totobola” Gomes. Six masked suspects stormed the busy butchery, robbing customers and staff before forcing the couple to their nearby home in an attempt to access a safe. During the ordeal, shots were fired. Marlene Gomes died at the scene, while Sergio Gomes was rushed to hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. No arrests have been made.
