Lover of bourbon & dogs. By Grabthar's Hammer, by the Sons of Warvan, you shall be avenged. Life was better when we drank from the skulls of our enemies.

The left changed the rules, it’s time we win the game then change them back. Rush used to opine that if you think the left is crazy now, wait till they are out of power. Well, I don’t think they’ve ever been out of real power in my life, certainly not like now. They’ve lost both houses for the foreseeable future, the press is emasculated & the right’s messaging is getting out though channels the left can’t control, the universities are trying to hide in the shade unnoticed, the NGO’s that were funding all the bullshit are being shuttered. Even in 1968 they weren’t this cut off from support. Expect more violence.

All this Yale discourse is insane, MCAT scores have very little to do with how good of a doctor you will be.

@AGLabBear @MorlockP Nah, he thought the UK would capitulate in some way. Hell, they almost did. Then he’s not fighting on two fronts. He was, as is often the case, fighting the last war. FDR’s lend lease and Churchill’s obstinance (both rebellious acts) were black swan moments.

@PolybiusChamp @MorlockP This feels more true about WW1. Germany expected to fight France+Russia+Serbia+Belgium — it didn’t expect the UK entering the war, or Italy, or the U.S. WW2 was not like this — when the Poland invasion happened, Hitler knew who he’d be fighting.

@PolybiusChamp @MilennialBoom @Kyr504 Mention the white flight and scorched earth policies that followed. Why omit important facts? Besides, redlining was something agreed upon bilaterally. That alone destroyed Detroit.

You ain’t seen poverty like Southern & Deep South poverty. And you get tripped out by how many poor whites you see. That’s when your mind gets real blown. 100% Republican led & been that way for generations. City poverty ain’t got nothing on rural poverty…

New: Rahm Emanuel has been blasting out more national policy papers than any other potential 2028 candidate. So far, polls show few voters care. axios.com/2026/05/17/rah…

@Kyr504 Right. Republicans never had a city they built into an economic powerhouse in the US. Not one. Civil Rights play a huge role in the biggest cities & the industries that built them up.

@JayTC53 Massie is anything but a career politician. He is one of the only principled members of congress willing to support what Republicans are supposed to stand for. He doesn't sell us out to keep his job.

So, aaaaages ago, I was anti-gun. Changed my mind over time by talking to people. One of them was a guy who left a gay bar with his partner, and got smoked in the back of the head with a brick. Woke up to his partner getting the boots. Pulled his gun and suddenly the aggressors discovered the merits of peaceful dialogue and deescalation. A baton wouldn't have done shit for either of them.
they/them might be giants ☭@babadookspinoza

FYI: collapsible batons are much cheaper than guns, don’t need licensure and are a lot less of an escalation simply to draw but are scary enough to deter and extend your reach by >1’ if not. I got my Smith & Wesson for $50. Break their legs and run! (Check legality in your area.)

@PolybiusChamp I also think people put too much retroactive weight on them. In the end, they aren’t really what you remember about the great movies of the 80’s (with a few exceptions). Rather they were more like salt on a good steak.

@Susanchf4 @IanRunkle 1120 over 18 years is nowhere near your 3X per day - it’s 63 per year. When you add in the 17+ group you get much higher annual rates. Look at the tables. And yes the under 17’s are all terrible, but much mower numbers than your tweet inferred.

BREAKING: London’s Nova exhibition to commemorate the Jewish kids massacred on October 7th was removed per police request. The Met police asked the organizers to take the sign down out of fear of terror attacks on the exhibition. So grim.
