Preferential voting in single-member seats shields the uniparty.
South Australia just proved it: One Nation (not a fan) got 21.7% of the vote → 0 seats. Labor got 38.9% → 35 seats. This isn’t representation. It’s a grotesque remnant of the old UK majoritarian system that Australia never fully escaped.
We need real representative democracy. Perhaps proportional representation (like the Senate model, or MMP like New Zealand/Germany). Seats should match the actual vote. 21.7% = ~10 seats, not zero.
Time to drag our democracy into the 21st century. But ... The uniparty won't do it unless forced.
