If everyone who has been grateful for the NHS over the past 75 years followed and retweeted we’d reach a million by midnight
Please take just two seconds to show you care
Since LTN, our roads is covered with mini-meadows. Children play on it. Dogs walk off-leash. You can hear the church bells over the traffic. It's idyllic compared to what we had before. Good for quality of life, good for the environment, good for health. bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politi…
Sunak “I’m on the side of motorists”! For heavens sake: how low our politics have sunk! There are difficult decisions to be made but is inconvenience for motorists seems small price to pay for equitably reducing accidents & deadly air pollution theguardian.com/uk-news/2023/j…
Sunday lunch in pub - bit annoyed to hear woman nearby say after training as clinical psychologist on NHS salary (she says £40k pa) she’s going to private practice. Shouldn’t ‘we’ get payback & how tragic young people don’t value and fight for better publicly funded health care
A thread for the ultra-wealthy.
If you are wealthy, you may think that if the U.K. switches from an NHS-model to a private model of healthcare it will either a) be better for you, or b) will not affect you.
Here is why you are wrong…

As Spain & rest of southern Europe fry in +100F Braverman write’s to Sir Keir revealing her ignorance of perils produced by fossil fuels. Our politicians should respond to young people legitimate resistance - it’s their lives we are destroying! images.app.goo.gl/LZU5Z8g8ZfyyAU…
Would be good if commentators could give equal acknowledgment to the brilliance of Alcaraz as they are yo Djokovic - that young fella is playing a stunner!
75 today- satisfaction with NHS peaked in 2010: since declined. Much happened in 2010 but there was a new Tory govt that has remorsely sought to undermine the NHS to build public support for USA style reforms. Will the public realise in time how valuable the NHS is!
Reading NY Times on visit to washingtonDC - I know it’s a liberal paper but still did double take on this headline. Would be great if those “long held” neoliberal beliefs really are shattered but not holding my breath!
No this isn’t in a southern state of USA. It’s an out of date U.K. law applied by male judge sentencing mother of 3 for 28 months for exercising her right to control her own body. Dangerous stuff! Rare unlawful abortion case Stoke-on-Trent mum jailed stokesentinel.co.uk/news/stoke-on-…

1989 water privatised to stop sewage pouring into environment. 2023 companies say sorry for 800 sewage spillages daily & promise £bns (going on bills) to fix it, meanwhile, they’ve paid £50bn dividends & have £50b+ debts consumers are liable for. Another Privatisation success???
@Peston One reason for optimism about future of more egalitarian principles in England is the large number of empty places at the national conservatism conference. He he
Michael Gove begins his conversation at the National Conservatism conference by rejecting its social conservatism, and makes the guilty admission he is a liberal
We are refusing to pay Elon Musk for a blue tick

You couldn't make this up
First the government try to kill us with incorrect PPE
Then they clap us as heroes
But they won't give us fair pay
But they will give us the George Cross
And now they want to take us to court or strike us off for fighting back
Thanks Tories
