On this date in 1939, DC’s own Marvin Gaye was born at Freedmen’s/Howard U. Hospital. He lived in the Fairfax Apartments in SW & the East Capitol Dwellings. He attended school at Syphax, Randall, Spingarn, & Cardozo High. His musical legacy in DC & the US will not be forgotten!

UPDATE: The remains of a Kentucky veteran who had once been the subject of a Green Alert were found in a park. On March 22, Clarksville Police officers discovered the body of 54-year-old Jyronna Dione Parker along the riverbank at Ashland Park. A Green Alert had been issued for Parker in late 2025 but was later canceled by Lexington Police after determining he was not at risk. Thoughts are with his family and friends during this time. #TheAWAREFoundation
