@QEsther414@DrFrankTurek Similar to the Church of England. I like the rhythm that the lectionary gives over the year and three year cycle, in reading the bible. This can be individually or corporately
As a Catholic, I hear large portions of the Bible proclaimed aloud every time I go to Mass (which is typically every single day) as it's built right into our worship.
The Church uses a structured plan called the Lectionary, which assigns specific Bible passages for every day of the year. It's like a three-year menu (for Sundays) and a two-year one (for weekdays) that cycles through most of the Bible over time. The whole worldwide Catholic Church hears the same readings on the same day, so we're all feeding on the same Scriptures together as a community.
Right now (in March 2026), we're in Year A for Sundays—which focuses especially on the Gospel of Matthew. So on Sundays, I'm hearing passages mainly from Matthew, paired with related Old Testament readings and letters from the apostles. For daily Mass, it's Year II (or Cycle 2), pulling from various books.
For this Lent, the Gospel readings on Sundays have included things like the Transfiguration (from Matthew) or the woman at the well (from John in Year A). It's not one book at a time, but a thematic journey through salvation history, the life of Jesus, and the early Church—designed so over the cycles, we cover a huge amount of Scripture without missing the big picture. And we clearly see the new Testament is the fulfillment of the Old Testament through our Savior, Jesus Christ!
I do also read the Bible personally - I recently read the Bible in a year along with @frmikeschmitz on the @AscensionPress app and I have completed multiple Bible studies created by @JeffCavins.
What about you—what book or passage are you in right now?
TELL US: Couples, how do you manage money between you? Do you have kitchen table finance meetings – how often? Do you have joint or separate accounts and why?
Please reply here, like your faves, and pod producer Simon will collate some to read out.
We stayed at a hotel and went to the free breakfast buffet. There's an omelet bar but the line is so long we just ignored it and served ourselves (bagels, fruit, yogurt, juice, etc).
Imagine our surprise when we were halfway through eating and a staff member puts this on the table without a word and walks away. The "free" buffet "costs" $20 each but there's a "discount" because it's free.
We seated ourselves, served ourselves, and cleaned up after ourselves. Why in the world would we leave a tip?

Sometimes at church, you never know if your words have a positive impact or not.
Today I know they did, and from a couple I'd never met before, I know because they told me, it was just what I needed, and it made my day!
@timfarron The journey to Preston is long and often daunting and so some older patients turn down radiotherapy as a treatment choice. This is not acceptable as access should be for all and not dependent on postcode.
Half of all cancer patients should have radiotherapy treatment.
In South Cumbria & Lancashire that figure is just 29% - the lowest of anywhere in the country.
We desperately need a radiotherapy unit at Kendal so patients here can access life-saving treatment much closer to home
"Pray for me that I have a fantastic time today"
Jennifer Melle has returned to work today after a 10-month suspension for speaking about how she was punished by the NHS for indirectly 'misgendering' a transgender paedophile. Pray for her🙏

The @churchofengland working class vocations stuff @synod I hope will be as much of a gift to others as it has been to myself. So many examples to mention but truly inspiring and full of hope. Thanks to all who have given their voice to this process.
Only one MP has so far signed Rupert’s parliamentary motion on the inquiry’s reports of overseas trafficking of abused white girls by the Muslim rape gangs to Pakistan and elsewhere.
Independent Northern Irish MP Alex Easton.
This needs to get traction. Ask your MP to sign.
The cows don’t take Christmas Day off, and neither do the people who keep this country running.
NHS staff, carers, police, firefighters, armed forces, prison officers and many more are on duty today so the rest of us can be with family.
Happy Christmas!🎄
So, I went for my RIG procedure today to insert a tube into my stomach. Unfortunately, the procedure was abandoned as the radiologists were unable to get a clear image of my stomach. It appears my liver has moved & enlarged & is covering the stomach. An op may now be required.
I'm now in hospital with a collapsed lung which Docs are unable to drain. Without an op, the infections will kill me. Op is tomorrow am. My family and I need your love, support, shares and help more than ever. Thank you. I will update further when I can.

Just saying I'm really not very well at the moment and utterly exhausted. I won't be posting until I have better news or responding to your lovely messages as I have no energy. Apologies but I'm not in a good place.
