Last week, Ports of Indiana European Trade Representative Brian Dooley had the privilege of attending the launch of this year’s Irish Maritime Transport Economist, at an event organized by the @IMDO, Ireland’s dedicated state agency for the development, promotion, and marketing of the Irish shipping and shipping services sector. The launch event focused on recent changes and challenges in the maritime sector, highlighting the numerous crises the industry has faced and its remarkable resilience in adapting to meet customers' needs. The annual bulletin is a comprehensive reference guide to maritime transport statistics, including; trade, traffic, international shipping markets and economic data. Well done to the authors Daniel Fallen Bailey and Mark Larkin. Pictured from left to right: Paul Hegarty, CCO @portofcork; Liam Lacey, Director IMDO; Minister of State at the Department of Transport Sean Canney; David Sinnott, CEO @portofwaterford; and Brian Dooley.

💧Water isn't just a resource for the industries we serve — it's the foundation our ports are built on. CCO Brady Jacoba attended the @VenturesHG Industrial Water Forum in Indianapolis last week, where corporate operators, innovators, and investors tackled the biggest challenges in industrial water management. ⚓Ports of Indiana operates on the Ohio River (Jeffersonville & Mount Vernon) and Lake Michigan (Burns Harbor). The resilience and responsible use of those water systems is central to everything we do — so conversations about aging infrastructure, emerging contaminants, and the next decade of water technology are directly relevant to how we operate and grow. #PortsofIndiana #IndustrialWater #InlandPorts #OhioRiver #GreatLakes #Indiana

Some cargo doesn't fit the standard playbook. That's exactly why our tenants choose Ports of Indiana-Burns Harbor. Our roll-on, roll-off (RO-RO) and heavy lift capabilities mean we're ready when the shipment is oversized, the deadline is tight, and the challenge is real. We're not just a port—we're your problem-solving partner. Pictured here are wind turbine blades that moved through the port on their way to the many wind farms that are located in the Midwest. 🏗️💨 portsofindiana.com #projectcargo #burnsharbor #portsofindiana #indianaeconomy

🚢 Big news from Mount Vernon: Ports of Indiana has opened a new federally approved bonded storage facility — and already received its first barge shipment of aluminum. What makes this milestone special isn't just the aluminum. It's what it represents: ✅ A one-acre lot in the Port went from undeveloped land to a fully CBP-certified bonded facility in approximately six weeks ✅ A new supply chain option that leverages Indiana's no state inventory tax advantage and the port's bonded status — allowing duties to be deferred until product leaves the facility This aluminum was imported by vessel from Asia into New Orleans, then moved by barge through the inland waterway system to Mount Vernon — where it's destined to be distributed to Midwest manufacturers for use in automotive, construction, and packaging. The facility — operated by Indiana River & Rail Terminals — features a 20,000 sq ft warehouse, a one-acre storage yard, and connects to five Class I railroads, 10 barge berths, and the I-69 Canada-Mexico trade corridor. Proud of our team and our operating partner Indiana River & Rail Terminals for making this happen. #PortsofIndiana #InlandWaterways #Logistics #TradeHub #Midwest #SupplyChain

☘️ What better day than St. Patrick's Day to announce our new home in Ireland? ☘️ Ports of Indiana has officially opened its first European Trade Office in Ireland — and we couldn't be more excited about what's ahead. Leading the charge is maritime veteran Brian Dooley, who brings nearly 30 years of experience in ports, logistics, and business development, including five years at the Port of Cork. Brian will be our primary point of contact for European trade development as we build new partnerships and grow cargo connections between Indiana and Europe. This milestone supports the launch of our container terminal at Ports of Indiana-Burns Harbor on Lake Michigan — set to offer the only direct ocean container service into the greater Chicago market — and strengthens our existing partnership with Port of Cork and Port of Antwerp-Bruges. #PortsofIndiana #Ireland #MaritimeTrade #GreatLakes #StPatricksDay #Logistics #TradeGrowth
