Honored to deliver remarks at the National Capacity Building Workshop on Promoting Juncao Technology in Zimbabwe, jointly organized by the China National Juncao Engineering Technology Research Center, the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, and @MoLAFWRD_Zim. It is truly inspiring to see this “grass of prosperity” taking root in Zimbabwe—improving rural livelihoods, reducing poverty, and strengthening climate resilience. In just one year, the China-aided Juncao Technology Project has expanded to nine provinces, established 69 demonstration sites, delivered 19 training sessions for over 800 participants, and supported a growing number of farmers in increasing their incomes through mushroom cultivation, feed and fertilizer production. 🇨🇳🇿🇼

RTG Delivers Robust FY25 Performance: Strategic Expansion Fuels Growth The Rainbow Tourism Group (RTG) has announced a robust performance for the year ended 31 December 2025, with revenue increasing by 13% to USD 50.3 million, driven by a 28% surge in foreign currency earnings. The company’s strategic expansion efforts, including the acquisition of Montclair Hotel and Casino, MSK House in Cape Town, and Batoka Safaris, have contributed to the growth in revenue.Despite the revenue growth, EBITDA decreased by 20% to USD 7.8 million, while profit after tax declined by 39% to USD 3.3 million, primarily due to USD 1.6 million in expansion-related costs and higher finance costs. positiveeyenews.co.zw/2026/03/27/rtg… @RainbowTourism @ZSE_ZW

GOVERNMENT EASES IMPORT RULES TO CUSHION CITIZENS FROM GLOBAL PRICE SHOCKS Zimbabwe’s government has taken swift action to shield citizens from the impact of rising global fuel prices and commodity shortages triggered by the Middle East conflict. In a bid to stabilize prices and ensure the availability of essential goods, the government has exempted individuals from obtaining import licenses for basic commodities, effective immediately. The move, announced through Statutory Instrument 59 of 2026, allows citizens to import a range of essential goods, including cooking oil, sugar, cereals, and toiletries, without an import license, once a month. The exemption applies to goods for personal use, with specific quantity limits. positiveeyenews.co.zw/2026/03/26/gov… @Min_of_IC @DeptCommsZW @InfoMinZW @CCZ_263 @ZNCCNational @czionline

ZIMSEC Exam Registration Fee Deadline Extended to 22 May 2026 The Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Hon. T. Moyo, has announced an extension of the ZIMSEC registration fee payment deadline to 22 May 2026. The original deadline was 27 March 2026. Speaking in Parliament, Minister Moyo said the move was made after consultations, aiming to ease the burden on parents and guardians. Centres that have already collected fees are encouraged to deposit the funds into the relevant bank accounts. The extension comes as a relief to many, and it's a testament to the government's responsiveness to citizens' needs. NDS2: Matopos Road Rehabilitation Update The rehabilitation of Matopos Road is a key component of the broader infrastructure drive in Bulawayo, specifically falling under the Emergency Road Rehabilitation Programme Phase 2 (ERRP2). Government intervention on this stretch is particularly strategic, as Matopos Road serves as a vital artery connecting the city to the Matobo World Heritage Site and the Matabeleland South province. Key Updates on the Project (March 2026) ✍🏽Funding and Strategy: The Bulawayo City Council (BCC) recently proposed using a portion of its Zinara allocation (approximately ZiG 62 million) to move away from hiring expensive equipment. By purchasing its own plant and machinery, the council aims to accelerate the overlaying and periodic maintenance of major roads like Matopos Road. ✍🏽Broader Regional Impact: This project is being synchronized with the rapid upgrade of the Bulawayo-Maphisa Highway, which is being prioritized ahead of the 2026 Independence Day celebrations hosted in Matabeleland South. ✍🏽Infrastructure Standards: Similar to the ongoing works on the Bulawayo-Victoria Falls road, the rehabilitation typically involves: ✔️Full Pavement Reconstruction: In areas where the road has outlived its design life. ✔️Widening: Expanding the carriageway to improve safety and accommodate heavy traffic. ✔️Stormwater Drainage: Improving culverts to prevent the "pothole cycle" caused by water logging. Related Infrastructure Developments As of March 2026, several other critical corridors in the region are seeing simultaneous progress: ✍🏽Bulawayo-Victoria Falls Highway: Approximately 47.5 kilometers have now been opened to traffic as contractors aim for a mid-to-late 2026 completion. ✍🏽Urban Roads: The recent reopening of Lorraine Drive in Harare on March 9 serves as the template for the quality of urban road rehabilitation being applied to Bulawayo's main roads.

Mutoko’s Finealt Plant Emerges as a Model for Rural Industrialisation and Bioeconomy Growth Mutoko – The Finealt bioeconomy plant in Mutoko is fast positioning itself as a strategic pillar in Zimbabwe’s rural industrialisation drive, demonstrating how local resources can be transformed into high-value products while stimulating inclusive economic growth. Spearheaded within the broader framework of the National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2), the plant focuses on converting locally grown crops such as sunflower and soya into cooking oil, soap and biodiesel. This model directly addresses one of Zimbabwe’s long-standing economic gaps, the export of raw agricultural produce with limited local value addition. @ZimGvt_NDS1 @Zim_Vision2030 @DeptCommsZW @InfoMinZW @Min_of_IC

Mbare Musika Rebuild Signals Promise, But Modernisation Must Match Its National Importance Harare – The reconstruction of Mbare Musika marks yet another chapter in the life of Zimbabwe’s most rading hub, but history demands that this time, renewal must go beyond physical rebuilding to a complete redefinition of how the market operates within a modern economy. Since independence, Mbare Musika has undergone multiple renovations, each attempting to restore order and functionality, yet repeatedly falling short of transforming the market into a fully structured, efficient and future-ready commercial centre. This pattern points not to a failure of rebuilding, but to a deeper issue, outdated operational standards that have not kept pace with the scale, complexity and importance of the market itself. positiveeyenews.co.zw/2026/03/25/mba… @MoLGPWZim @myedvt @mwacsmed @SWAPOPRESIDENT

CIMAS Under Fire for Alleged Anti-Competitive Practices in Zimbabwe’s Healthcare Sector The Competition and Tariff Commission (CTC) has launched an investigation into CIMAS Medical Aid Society (CIMAS), one of Zimbabwe’s largest medical aid providers, over allegations of restrictive and anti-competitive practices in the health sector. The probe follows a complaint by Belnash Investments, trading as Harvey Brown Pharmacy, which was denied registration as a health service provider on CIMAS’s direct payment system. According to reports, CIMAS denied Harvey Brown registration despite having similar service providers on its platform. Allegations have been made that CIMAS has a pharmacy close to Harvey Brown and has been indirectly referring clients to their pharmacy, potentially limiting healthcare choices for its members. The CTC is concerned that such practices, if true, would stifle competition and create unfair barriers for independent businesses. positiveeyenews.co.zw/2026/03/25/cim… @CimasHealth @CTCZimbabwe @MoHCCZim @InfoMinZW
